Crossing the Mississippi from East for the first time, Joe Jones proceeds to pass through 48 states. Domestic Refugee is a coming-of-age travelogue through the barren farmland of northern New England (Bigger Life) to the desolate mass of Wyoming (Rest Area), underneath Florida's gaping sink holes (Hold Still), resolving in the uninhabited log-jammed beaches of the Northwest (AM Blues) after an ephemeral romance with California (Been A Long Time). Escaping cults (Heaven's Bus), natural disaster (Remains of Day), and family tragedy (Oklahoma), the songs trace a diaspora of the domestic US rural community, as experienced by Jones. 

Equally inspired by Neil Young's On the Beach and John Steinbeck's Travels with Charley.



Cazadero (Domestic Refugee) Album Preview

Cazadero dabbles in Western pop, mixing Nashville-tinged jubilee with abandoned beach balladry. Dusk for Dawn was under-conceived in a period of nine weeks at the onset of 2012 between rehearsals across from Ocean Beach and a pleasantly dank, carpeted room in North Oakland. Shortly thereafter, it was casually put to tape at Tiny Telephone by eight musicians over the course of four days.

Cazadero is a Western pop band from Northern California, mixing Nashville jubilee and Pacific Ocean swells. Waxing poetic on mortality, the working class, and the struggles of Western migration. With two private vinyl pressings under their belt, Dusk for Dawn (2012) and Old Friends (2013), Caz is presently recording a 2015 release (Domestic Refugee), which continues its homage to the tempered lyricism of heroes JJ Cale, Bill Callahan, and the Band.
