Working on a new song, but working on getting better at #musicproduction too. A #dark #instrumental with a positive message about overcoming troubling situations. No matter what I go through, "I'm good!"

My poetic interpretation of Katy Perry's 'Chained to the Rhythm'. I wrote this verse when I was 14 and it's still relevant today...

We used to only see white faces in high places,
Degradation, segregation, plain racist.
But there are people who lived life trying to change things,
Mandela, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King.
All around you'd see some people fighting,
Some changing stubborn thinkers and providing rights and
It seems like the dream is finally here!
But not completely 'cause there are people who still live in fear.
You see discrimination happening here and there.
If you listen to the news, you can always hear,
Some who are black still get attack,
For some who are gay, it's not OK,
If you're a woman, you're under the man,
Look around the world and I'm sure you can find,
Someone different, from you and me,
(Well obviously) but they are treated very differently
Probably 'cause of race, gender, age, or a disability
And the inability to stop this probability means,
We'll keep living in a world of hate,
Where people think it's OK, to not appreciate,
The things that make us different, the things that make us great!
It's been a long time coming and we shouldn't have to wait for it.
There are people living ignorant lives,
Afraid to see what they find, if they just open their mind,
Although there is change, some people still stay the same,
So stereotypes will still be...
