Description: April 16th 2017 marks 10 years since the Virginia Tech massacre where 32 innocent lives were lost. In part two of our special two-part story, survivors share the physical and psychological aftermath of that shooting rampage. Kevin Sterne and Kristina Anderson, do their best to pick up the pieces and move forward with their lives, but the ghosts from that day continue to haunt them.

UP NORTH TRIP! is a mix I put together for CR8APES.COM a few years ago. It features a mix of 90′s Canadian hip-hop tracks hand-picked from my collection. I had a lot of fun pulling these records & doing this mix. Each of these tracks had heavy rotation in my Sony Walkman when I was a teen, finding my way in Toronto.
There’s no crazy post-production or multi-track mixing going on here. This mix was done the old-school way with vinyl, a sampler (for ID hits) and two turntables…all done in one-take!

Up North Trip

With the anniversary of J Dilla's death approaching, I wanted to break out the MPC and bang out a remix as a personal ode to the man who's had a huge influence on me, musically. My way of remembering one of hip-hop's greatest producers...

This beat was completed in under an hour & made entirely on an MPC1000. I wanted to keep it as raw as possible (like Dilla's last release, Donuts). Unfortunately the acapella I used was a low quality DIY version of The Money. I need to get my hands on a decent copy.
