Cracking Linear Elamite (2023) - for solo guitar

Linear Elamite is an ancient writing system, used in what is now Southern Iran from about 2300 BC to 1800 BC. With only forty extant examples, it has been difficult to decode. Scientists have recently made strides in doing so. 

Cracking Linear Elamite is a solo guitar piece about codes and encryptions. Part of my evening length work Proteus (in process), written for members of counter)induction, the piece sets up various encoded fragments from other works in the cycle, making their revealing elsewhere a version of cracking the code of a language.
