Untruth can reveal itself on a scale of different volumes. On one end of it, there's brazen lies that hurt and cause damage by the sheer fact of their existence. On the other end, there are lies that aim to make feel better, by surrounding with the protection of not knowing. White lies is the subject of the latest single “don’t ask again” from cadeu, joined by Janaé E. as vocalist. The song opens as a cinematic piano ballad with tension between the lines, performed by lush but estranged Janaé’s voice “Say it’s been your pleasure but enough and such”. Only to leave sentiments soon for unwavering honesty, backed by bass heavy breaks-influenced cadeu’s production.

Berlin-based Argentinian artist Alejandro Mosso turns cadeu's latest single into a hypnotic slow burner.

Just as white lies is about subtleties, so is the new remix of cadeu’s single ‘don’t ask again” by Alejandro Mosso. Over the course of 10 minutes, Mosso skillfully builds tension, borrowing only a few elements from the original version. The remix opens with an unfinished line “whenever you remember to…”, which continues throughout the entire track like a spellbinding pendulum. Mosso cuts the line as if metaphorically hinting on the tacit nature of white lies, which is the main theme of the lyrics. Despite sharing the same bpm of cadeu’s single, this remix lands in a different mood and groove territories, almost balancing out the darker cathartic vibes of the original with slow paced yet inflammable verve.

German-based electronic producer cadeu teams up with his long-time ally and nordic songstress spellsinmyhead to record “attention”, a genre-bending mix with nods to the classic sounds of jungle. Emotional performance of spellsinmyhead captures the essence of the song, which explores themes of being heard and seen, the need for recognition and validation, and ultimately, even the idea of one’s own mortality and the transience of life.

‘home 404’ is the most recent collab between cadeu, Berlin based producer, and spellsinmyhead, multidisciplinary artist and writer from Tallinn. their long lasting synergy spanned across many releases on labels such as Hyperboloid Records and Internetghetto. this time two artists tell a story that unites both of them – fleeing home and not being able to come back. it is not only about a piece of land to step upon, but as well the definition of home and feeling of belonging in general.

Ivona @ivnskk and i have been working together as a duo called Strmo @strmostrmo, and recording songs every now and then. we had a song titled Dorest, it was about unity with nature and connecting with yourself. i love that track and i wanted to give it another spin, reusing Ivona's vocals and recontextualizing the song thru a lens of technology and dependency on it.

“Ambiente für die Berliner U-Bahn” is a site-specific composition to listen to while taking a ride in Berlin underground. This is a piece that emphasizes certain elements in the surrounding, unites sound events of a scape and lets them contribute during the whole experience of listening.

Since the crucial part of “Ambiente für die Berliner U-Bahn” is the sonic environment, it is important to listen to the piece on a moderate volume, for the outer sounds should equally contribute to and participate in the composition. I would recommend to use a noise-cancelling headphones when experiencing the work, because they nicely filter out all the low muddy frequencies from the outside. The prerecorded soundtrack on the one hand and indeterminancy of the soundscape on the other always make a new piece in mutual interaction. It is suggested to try listening to the soundtrack during different dimes of a day, on different lines, both inside a train and outside on a platform. The sound characteristics of platforms are quite different from how it sounds when one is travelling inside a train.
