Tarea compleja pero ilusionante, que también exige transformar los imaginarios a través de los cuales comprendemos y actuamos en el mundo y repensar las hegemonías culturales que hasta ahora nos han gobernado.

On May 18th, I had the opportunity to present a live set that is part of my research project, "Registro de vientos menores." This project explores the technologies and materialities of wind and voice through the study and experimentation with various electronic instruments and an aerophone designed specifically for this purpose. The sound of the live performance plays with the tensions and interactions that arise between the organic nature of moving air and its various technological translations over forty minutes of drone. It is a continuous acoustic experience that fluctuates and modulates, avoiding narrative and canonical structures associated with the climax.

Personally, I am very grateful for the invitation and the care of the organizing team, as well as the opportunity to share the lineup with artists whose work I admire. The festival's name, "Temple," makes more sense than ever when you enter Espacio Perpendicular – understood not only as a physical architecture but also a social one. It is a place of respect and encounter, a commitment to valuing listening without mystification, a kind of space of belonging through and by sound.

Last Saturday, 05/25, I had the opportunity to develop one of my DJ sets called 'Vanishing Point, music to fade away', within the installation 'Round Sky and Square Earth (天圆地⽅)' in front of an attentive audience, given over to listening. The installation and its title seemed to me like the setting for a lyrical, mysterious and delicate fairy tale. (More info below)

The installation that puts the work of Yu Depeng and Lucía Loren in dialogue, curated by Mateo Feijóo, with the participation of the collective Habitar el Esparto and Josephine’ Soundscapes.

Starting from the singularity of traditional Chinese thought as an alternative for social and environmental sustainability, which Yu Depeng proposes, Mateo Feijóo imagines a collage in which several views are superimposed.

The proposal enters into dialogue with the Clima Fitness installation, which currently occupies the Intermediae space, to imagine an ancestral gym where to experience collaboration networks based on social and environmental sustainability.

"This mix is really special to me. I wanted to honor Temple by playing music that moves me and rarely get the chance to play— a blend of old gems and new discoveries. I picture this session as 'free-form': The energy shifts and fluctuates throughout, keeping listeners relaxed but engaged for the next acts.

Creating this mix felt like piecing together a puzzle, selecting the tracks I was excited to listen to on the incredible sound system at Espacio Perpendicular. I also kept in mind while selecting, the comfortable and cozy setting, with the cute pillow setup on the floor and beautiful sunlight entering the big windows—making it the perfect place for everyone to really dive into the music. I got to learn, connect with seasoned listeners, and enjoy the fantastic sets of the other artists, all while embracing the sweet, mellow vibe of a gathering like Temple. I was inspired to the core with the full experience, so here are some songs I love for you all :)"

"La Sibla has always been a fascinating figure for me, and it was a sublime experience to reinterpret this chant for the first time with the captivating performance of Laura Lavigny during the Temple live at Espacio Perpendicular. I was eager to create a sacred atmosphere with the sound of the pipe organ as the main element, using original recordings and sampling some of its tones to play live, recreating the sensation of the organ resonating in real-time."

"I grew up in spaces where, one day, I would attend a techno session, and the next, I would witness an orchestra, an opera, or something similar.  

In both contexts, I have experienced profoundly sacred moments, where the epiphany was the same—whether in an industrial space or a temple. For me, these experiences have been true journeys of transcendence, always remaining the same person, connecting with languages and settings that seem so "different."  

What is the real *difference* between Beethoven and a festival like Atonal or others of its kind?  

That’s why having the opportunity to shape my own vision of an archetype as ancient as the Sibyl—traveling through space and time alongside Kyria—has been a gift. Being accompanied by her music, her love, and her deep respect for the sacred has filled this experience with profound meaning.  

Sharing this with Temple has brought me immense joy and fulfillment, representing for me a culmination of vital expression.

Listen! A frog jumping into the stillness of an ancient pond...

What you hear here is an hour-long recording of what took place last November at ACME in Madrid, during our first listening session without a disclosed lineup. It was an attempt to summon people for the act of listening: to pause, connect and disconnect without the need to announce who is playing, DJing or performing.

Our hope is to build a space of trust in the music, where the emphasis lies on the experience and the act of listening.

In this particular excerpt you hear two songs played by Pedro as an intermezzo after Emil's performance. Then Suso gradually fades in a loop of H. Takahashi's song 'Lost' and continues his segment, concluding with an improvised collaboration with Emil.
