Reunion 
Among the goodies this week: A reunion of the mighty Basie big band and Joe Williams. We have Jack Payne leading the band that was featured in the first ever BBC broadcast in 1928, a recording by Carson Robinson who played a major roll in the development of country music, taking on the likes of Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison, and we have Buddy Knox with a1957 hit for him. Plus, Danny Kaye serves up some classic cockney cuisine from 1949.

This week Colin features American singer Edith Gormezano (Eydie Gormé), who achieved notable success in her career in pop, Latin, and jazz genres. Oh, and she was famously married to Steve Lawrence! A lot of our songs are bitter sweet, such as jazz violinist and bandleader Ben Bernie bringing in Pat Kennedy to tell of a Faded Summer Love. The distinctive sound of the George Shearing Quintette gives us a September song from 1949, plus,there’s Nat King Cole, Al Bowlly with Geraldo, Tommy Dorsey,  and Jack Leonard.
