Love is an emotional capacity without boundaries. It is the inherent beauty of life and light, flowing from within our body and mind. The alchemy of intimacy and devotion helps us to ascend from darkness, filling our soul with a clear radiant energy. Like a beaming star, our compassion and affection heal us by releasing our trauma in katharsis.

The compilation “No Limits, All Love” is the 12th release of katharsis, celebrating our first anniversary with 10 poignant tracks from artists novel to the label. With the title as a thematic starting point and additional references of gratitude, healing and growth, the contributing artists were invited to interpret their experiences of kathartic purgation and salvation through music.

To commence the compilation, the Egyptian Ma3azef-affiliated artist ABADIR engages us with his spellbinding track “Clearance”, before the British sound-designer Phrixus gets our bodies moving to his wonky “Unintentional Alchemy”. Debuting local Danish artist Bloszum takes the pace down again with the hypnotizing piano-infused hymn, “Beauty Is Only Crystal Deep”, followed by the daybreaking floater “Flamma” by Uruguayan artist Balas De Agua.

Subsequently, French producer Zero Crossing Point delivers a stellar spectrum of emotion on “Our Ascension” ahead of the sentimental receptacle of heartbreak on the track “Vesper” by French artist Awbluu. The energy dives deep into the trancelike state of our subliminal mind on Nexcyia’s “wrapped(up)”, as danish duo J Sliwa, consisting of label founder jjjacob and his partner in crime Lighyer, shoots for the stars with celestial cannons on the track “Light Is Within”. The compilation culminates in climax on the motivational rave-anthem “Don’t Be Sad” by the Swedish YEAR0001-affiliated duo Quit Life, before Santebela closes the album with grandiose piano phrases bathed in reverb on “save me”.

On A Symbol For Disguise (GEN048), UBU BOI & R HUNTER join hands to craft a high saturation, high density, high tension collection of collaborative tracks. Texturally, the sound is raspy, heavy hitting, synthetic yet constantly fluid, pushed or shaped into high harmonic regions, giving the sound a full, shimmering, metallic tint. The blasting, bouncy, crispy, sometimes even shredding percussive approach suggests an intense but elastic approach, manifesting in constantly morphing highly syncopated rhythmical forms. With detuned synthetic harp arpeggios, grimy, chromatic melodies and gnarly, glassy pads, the approach here is sometimes reminiscent of that lost era where home listening music, dance music and computer music formed an uncertain and temporary alliance. The notion of a confrontation is further underlined by the incidental appearance of a denatured voice in full range: whispering, declaring, demanding, wailing - looking the listener in the eye.

La Méridienne entend mêler, quelques après-midi durant, lumière zénithale et poésie sonore. Les sélections de nos convives, ouvertes au public, seront retransmises en direct sur nos ondes depuis les toits puis disponibles à la réécoute. Amateurs et amatrices d’ambiances lancinantes et de rythmes voluptueux, la Méridienne s’ouvre au grand jour le 3 juillet.

Radio Sofa sets its Méridienne on the roof of the Point Ephémère for a summer radio residency. In this transitory studio, oriented towards non-dancing phonic universes, we will receive guests and residents for exploratory sessions to be listened to sitting down.

La Méridienne intends to mix zenithal light and sonic poetry for a few afternoons. The selections of our guests will be open to public and broadcast live on our airwaves from the rooftop. Lovers of haunting atmospheres and voluptuous rhythms, La Méridienne opens on the 3d of July.

@garneaumusic who is most known for his mid-tempo club tools has been showing us his multi-faceted side lately.  This one is rather ridiculous, yet totally usable.. I'd probably have a heart attack if I heard this in a club, just saying.  

Although the majority of the VA is not traditional Juke, it does a great job at rounding up individuals that are certainly at the top of their game and pushing boundaries in their own right as we approach 2020.
