CCPAR Podcast 097 | RePete

Salvador Perea, aka Retter, is a Colombian DJ, producer, and electronic music enthusiast who moved to Berlin five years ago to immerse himself in its underground scene and contribute to its vibrant culture.

Initially drawn to techno, his sound evolved within Berlin's dynamic landscape. 
As Retter, he spans a wide range of electronic music - venturing into experimental territories while keeping the dancefloor alive with intrigue. 
An outlet of raw energy and hypnotic grooves, his sets combine precision and unpredictability.

He is also part of the trio 2001 Space Odyssey with Nikita T and Fase023, blending live improvisation and experimental fusion to push musical boundaries.
During the pandemic, Salvador found inspiration in organizing and playing at raves, which led to the creation of Técnica - a label and event series. Técnica's releases gained attention, and its events in underground and illegal clubs helped establish its distinct presence in the Berlin scene.

Polyritmica No20 - Retter

This month's mix for Electronic Convergence is a shout out to the golden age of techno music - the late nineties - featuring classic tracks from legendary producers Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Marco Carola and User. I started DJing and buying records in 1996 and remember when these tracks came out and the hype surrounding labels such as Axis, Purpose Maker, Theory, Question and User. I never get sick of playing and listening to these records.

Electronic Convergence Mix - September 2025

It's been a while since I put up a fresh techno mix. To be honest, I was kinda losing interest with all the tracks coming out trying to sound like Funk Assault clones (badly), so took a bit of a step back for a few months. Now the darker months are incoming, it feels like the perfect time for a set of nothing but fast-paced, dancefloor aimed heaters. Mostly new tracks with a few oldies sprinkled in. Enjoy!

Perhaps most known for his work as half of techno outfit Cassegrain, Istanbul native Hüseyin Evirgen has been active as solo artist since 2016 and making a name in his own right. His early classical training has taken a broader form in more recent years, a mashup of inspirations with strong mathematical current where simple ideas culminate in more complex and exponential compositions. Under the name Magna Pia, and adjunct label Arcing Seas his hulking techno has taken shape, and the imprint’s proven a platform for the publishing of his own work, Cassegrain’s and that of a small number of his close collaborators. His driving beats offer powerful and provocative moments mixed in with a clever spin on ambient that’s recognizable from a mile off, and constantly pushing what’s possible in sound to new and unforeseen heights. His 2019 album Daiauna was a return to roots record that incorporated his earlier training as piano player with the fluid electronics developed since, foraging too from his keen instinct for primal rhythms and high-brow symbolism. In the end it’s deeply physical, and proof of techno’s staying power as a medium for dance and social change. Bassiani Podcast 27 covers all these bases and more, an honest and striking addition to a body of work in constant flux. 4/4 magic from a true master.

Asymmetric chief Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a distinctive five track EP 'Becoming Invisible'.

Opening the EP, is 'Heat-Seeker' which goes straight for the jugular with its machine-gun kicks, playful arpeggios and weaving 303 punctuation. Next up, title track 'Becoming Invisible' where gritty movie-like pads soar above a steady kick heartbeat. Centering the release, 'Constant Overload' brings its restless bass pulses and delicate melodic shards set against a super-solid infectious four-to-the-floor beat. 'Vector Six' is up next and brings more grit and rawness, claustrophobic and occasionally coming up for air. Bringing things to a finish, 'Soaring' tempts the imagination with its waltz-like kick and quietly wavering melodrama.

El paso de Alchemical Theory por La Pocilga, el pasado 4 de Octubre en la Sala Prisma, fue pura alquimia sonora: un set cargado de energía y dinamismo, que no dejaba respirar ni permitía distraerse ni un segundo. Cada mezcla sorprendía más que la anterior, con una elegancia y limpieza impecables, y pinceladas de creatividad absoluta gracias a sus propias producciones. La sesión fue un viaje indescriptible. Nos teletransportaron a un lugar donde las palabras sobran y solo queda entregarse al disfrute total. Todos los cerd@s acabamos chapoteando felices en el barro: ¡pura gozada de principio a fin!

Vasco Rompão aka Kapa Preta is a an artist born in Lisbon, Portugal. Since early age he perceived that music was her connection because your roots from Angola, being a member of dance ensembles of African rhythms and of a musical band. In mid 2020, with strong influencesfrom in electronic music we start to explore more genres while he founds your our style. For this reason, he’s already been requested to go to several cities in your country and worldwide.

In 2023, he started to dive into stronger genres such as Techno, hypnotic techno and dub techno. Her attraction to dance free into dark atmospheres led her to focus on the search of this branch.

Her track selection brings a rhythm of intensity and energy. Trying to generate an original sound for the listener. Given his versatility , he has the opportunity to record mixes in Concept (Netherlands) , Radio Electronic Jena (Germany), Cheek Records (Germany), Amsterdam Techno Records (Netherlands) and Groove Harmony from Fnoob Techno (England).

He also recorded for the East Side Radio (Portugal) and in Collect Radio (Portugal). He also performed at one of the emblematic houses of Portugal (Lux Frágil).

With this release I'm getting back to hard edged Drum & Bass, basically my roots. I felt like I really need make as much heavy tunes as it is possible again. Don't expect any casual neurofunk on this release. This is just pure heavy shit with no fancy sparkles on the top. The first track is influenced by Orwells movie 1984, second one is influenced by another great movie I really like, Pacific Rim. I really enjoyed creating those two track so I hope you will.
