Offenbach's own DJ Simlocked brings a lifetime of musical passion to the decks! From rocking out on the guitar as a kid to transitioning to drums, his journey through the music world has been wild. Around the time he was performing with a Skramz band, the rave scene captured his heart at the age of 17, leading him to pick up DJing in 2014.

While stating that her early selections of electronic music might not be particularly flattering today, Simlocked's influences evolved qucikly to include Detroit legends like Juan Atkins, Gerald Donald, Mad Mike, Detroit In Effect, and Octave One. His production journey kicked off in 2017, drawing inspiration from contemporary artists like Stones Taro, Nikki Nair, Chloe Robinson & ADHD, Shcuro, Ben Pest, Viikatory, and CEM3340.

Now a member of the Hamburg-based collective and label Action Replay Codes, DJ Simlocked has graced clubs like PAL, Bürro, Silbergold, and Tanzhaus West in the Frankfurt area. Bait’s second VEP (Various EP) is a 4-track dive into a rather modern phenomenon: 150 dubstep, as DJs and crowds seem to be enjoying the faster bass sounds, yet broken rhythms and heavy halftime pulses. For this release, we’ve got L.A.’s rising bass-music talent Carré, who specialised in racing wobblers, and recently released her debut solo EP on her label FAW (Fast at Work). Track 2 is by UK-born Berlin-based Formella. This is the Femme Bass Mafia member’s first-ever release. The Third track is by Fast Castle label captain Gent1le $oul, also Berlin-based and pushing hybrid dubstep in the German capital with hot vinyl releases and parties. Last but not least, SPLT’s mental banger “Grill Party” that Beatrice M. happened to discover in Laksa’s Truant podcast and reached out after dropping an “ID?” comment on SoundCloud. The Lyon-based producer never misses, his tracks have been played out multiple times by Garçon and Agonis, in the continuity of merging bass and techno.

By definition, "atonal" refers to composing music by obscuring tonal structures or by ignoring conventional harmonies altogether.

It is also the moniker that Loris Scaglia adopted to express himself creatively, rewritten with a diacritic across the second vowel to accentuate the idea of no restraint when it comes to sonic exploration. For the better part of fifteen years, ATØNAL has been a music enthusiast, experimenting with sound through different disciplines in the likes of music production, DJing and event curatorship.

Influenced by 90s and 2000s club music, ATØNAL has crafted his own signature style through a formidable eclecticism in the realm of Electronic Dance genres. Shifting between Bass, Breaks, Garage and Techno-infused sounds, he blurs genre barriers through sets as sharp as they are unexpected.

Although native to Lausanne, ATØNAL has explored the better parts of Romandy through residencies through nightclubs such as le Zoo. Now back in his home town, he holds a residency at Le Bourg as a co-founder of the platform Breakfast Club where he showcases the Swiss electronic scene through various projects he oversees. ATØNAL is one to proudly incorporate while simultaneously generously giving back to his community.

How does one stay authentic to their roots yet consistently evolve? Perhaps by intertwining the lines between the personal self and artistic persona. This avoidance of tradition to welcome innovation is something evident in his work. COUNTERBALANCE is a work ethic ATØNAL adopted to level his visual and sonic creative endeavours. A glimpse into his activities, whether by working in advertising during the day or the usage of cap locks in his titles, reflects an urge to be present and expresses that branding is very dear to him. An ongoing thought process in the separation and attachment to one’s self with a pseudonym to do just that: be loud.
