Chris Puckett started performing at the age of twelve after his family made the move from Anchorage, Alaska and decided to enroll him in performing arts classes in the newfound, sunny California. It was there that he discovered his true love for the stage, whether it was performing in a musical theatre production, or playing in a band. After awhile, the desire to share stories through songs became too great to ignore. After playing the lead roles in Bakersfield Music Theatre's productions of Grease, West Side Story, and High School Musical, he became the frontman of the local Bakersfield, CA band, Vogue In The Movement. In their four and a half year span, they managed to tour the nation a number of times, sell thousands of records, sign to Riot Squad Management (My Chemical Romance, Circa Survive), Ink a publishing deal with Downtown Music Publishing (Mos Def, Ellie Goulding, Neon Trees, Seal), Have their songs placed on a variety of different television shows, like MTV's "Jersey Shore," and "The Hills." They also reached the final four of MTV's Dew Circuit Battle Of The Bands, Starred in a national commercial for MTV, inked a 6 month promotional deal with MTV, and played with the likes of Sugarcult, Fall Out Boy, Circa Survive, Paramore, and The Plain White T's. He co wrote tracks called "Fire On The Dance Floor," "Stranded," and "Stop" with the Sugarcult frontman, Tim Pagnotta, who also co-penned the hit song from Neon Trees called "Animal." After the band parted ways in 2010, Chris decided to broaden his musical horizons by enrolling at LA Music Academy. While living there, he performed all over the Sunset Strip with his group "Chris Puckett and The Alibis." Eventually Chris decided to finish business school in Bakersfield, but wasn’t able to stay away from the music scene for long. After linking up with a songwriting partner from his high school days, and somehow finding the missing pieces of their musical puzzle on Craigslist, Stereo Citizen was born. The band instantly started gaining local popularity after being asked to play Bakersfield’s biggest free concert event, put on by the local rock station KRAB 106.1, which led to having their music played in full rotation. The songs they were writing somehow magically ended up being heard by multi-platinum producer Matt Squire. He recorded the band’s debut EP, and with those songs the band independently got them licensed for television shows, in full rotation on more than fifty radio stations across the country, and was able to play them to thousands of people by earning opening slots for Saint Motel, Meg Myers, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, RX Bandits, Shwayze, Hawthorne Heights, and many other big headliners. Chris is actively doing session singing work, and landed a job doing work for a Disney/Pixar animated film coming out in the near future. In the late fall/early winter, a new solo EP, and new Stereo Citizen singles will be released as well!
