The Chrysalis Expansion Set is a new group in Chicago playing a recombinant blend of balkan trance music and song,  afro-caribbean music, and folk rock and soul. Steve Raden, formerly of SantoSato, Impossible, Lobstar and Enviromental Encroachment Impossible and founded the group to foment collaboration with original songs, improvisations and interpretations, Cellular division or transformation into music forms of radically differing morphology is expected. Initial recordings were made with the San Francisco synthesizer and production magic of the Belial Movers.
