I made this set to collaborate with Keerd (as a VJ) for my monthly guest set on Holotropic Happy Hour, the former 2-hour A/V weekly stream I co-produced on Bluetech's Twitch channel for over 2 years.

Bide a Wee is an ode to the chill rooms of the parties I attended in the late 90's. It's a journey through genres and decades, all in the name of "chillaxation". Lots of dub, psychill and IDM in this one.

BURNING MAN 2023 AGAVE LOUNGE

For those of you that have not yet experienced the Pumpkin phenomenon you’re in for a treat! This week the L.A.-based DJ/producer, a.k.a. Nicholas Alvarado, is our very special guest on the RIPEcast! 

We admit to being a little late to the Pumpkin party having just heard him for the first time at Lightening in Bottle this year, but Nicholas has been dazzling dance crowds in his native Los Angeles and at events like L.I.B. for years.  "Electrorganic mood music for romance and espionage", "Lovesauce", "Bouncy Lovehop" and "Folktronica"; Pumpkin's style is truly unique and defies any conventional description. And after experiencing his mesmerizing set on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon under the billowing ribbons of the Woogie stage, Zach Moore returned from L.I.B. determined to book the talented Mr. Alvarado for a RIPEcast. Lucky for us, he was well up for it!

Pumpkin is the music producer and curator behind the Wandering Marionettes and their eclectic event, Kabinet Theatre, as well as a member of the famed Los Angeles collective POCKET Underground. By embracing all moods and genres, Pumpkin's remixes and DJ sets have been known to inspire lust, love and laughter. Tactfully walking the thin line between hip-grinding rhythms and bittersweet lyrical melodies, Pumpkin truly loves every song he shares with the dancefloor.
