Solitude

2023

It was June in twenty-three,
Summer break, I still recall,
I had nothing, you head to a festival,
That’s when everything began to fall.

Life was tough, but we were fine,
Together, we could bear the strain,
A few fights, sure, but that's the sign,
Of wanting someone you can't contain.

I wanna to stop your fake friends' game,
They smiled at me, but weren’t sincere,
While I drowned my thoughts in drink and flame.
Without you, I lost my way,

Home was hard to find alone,
In those first few days of gray,
I stumbled, lost, as if overthrown.
We’d meet sometimes on the stair,
I’d try to speak, you’d laugh instead,
"Everything will fine" (you said)
But inside, my hope had fled.
Almost two years have gone by,

And now I finally see,
I had to move on, though I’d cry,
Whether or not you were with me.

Don’t ask me how I made it here,
But know that now I’m truly glad,
Missing you nearly brought despair,
But now I have what I never had.

Riddles

You speak in riddles, thinking I don’t understand
Wish I was that naive, I could at least pretend
You’re on a path that seems to lead you to a good place,
But, darling, you’re already there, I see it in your face

The fire in your eyes, I sparked it once before,
But now I’m left with nothing, just a closing door.

I wish we’d stayed friends from the start,
Romance tore us apart, left me with a hollow heart.
Now you’re happy, I hope she treats you well,
While I dwell in shadows, in this self-made hell.

I can find joy in a five-sentence text,
But it’s not enough to heal the wounds you left.
I’m stuck in the past, where we were just friends,
Before love stole you away, and brought it all to an end.
I regret my existence, a shadow of who I was,
An emo song on repeat, every line a loss.
I hope you’re better, hope she’s everything and more,
But I’m here in the darkness, where you left me before.

The Weight of Years

 She once danced in fields of summer gold, 
With sisters laughing, young and bold.
 Built a life, a home, a name, 
But some ghosts never play the game.
A war, a loss, a silent cry, 
She carried them, and never asked why.

 She misses walking, oh how she'd roam
 Barefoot dreams, a world called home. 
She misses songs with fading lines, 
Melodies lost in the twist of time. 
From ninety-one, the future's thin, 
But memories cut deep beneath the skin.

Photographs she cannot place, 
Names that drift without a face. 
Even joy can start to sting,
 When the mind forgets what the heart still clings.
 
She misses walking, the morning breeze,
 The way the world bent at her knees. 
She misses songs, the words once clear,
 Now just a tune she strains to hear. 
By the passing time, the body bends
 But the ache of memory never ends.

 They say she’s lucky, still alive, 
But some days she’s too tired to survive. 
Not for death, but for release— 
A little silence, an inner peace.

 She lived a life, she wore it true, 
But some wounds time cannot undo. 
So sing for her, a softer tune,
 For the woman who once danced with the moon.
