Cecilie Penny is a Danish/Irish composer and visual artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Using manipulated vocal samples, synthesizers and field recordings, she creates a sound collage across several genres of electronic music, where synthpop unites with techno and sound art. Her music is a play with electronic glitches and its potential to express  empathy. The processed vocals appear synthetic but with feeling, polished, yet full of mistakes and, thereby, she explores the possibilities which arise in the interaction between the voice and technology.

Cecilie Penney is the curator of the feminist synthesizer collective and record label SØNTH together with the artist ALOO (Sofie Søe).
