Forest birds awaking in the Pyrenees

A group of Long-tailed Tits found my microphone. As they get excited about it, they attract more and more birds. Recorded in a mid altitude Fir (Abies alba) forest of the French Pyrenees.

Recording gear: Olympus LS-5 recorder and Naiant XX stereo microphone (1st generation model).

Bird list: Blue Tit(Cyanistes caeruleus), Common Firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla), Common Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea), Great Tit (Parus major), European Crested Tit (Lophophanes cristatus), European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), Long-tailed Tit (Aegithalos caudatus), Short-toed Treecreeper (Certhia brachydactyla), Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius), Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita), Coal Tit (Periparus ater).

Birds and cicadas singing in a mature forest on Palawan island

Recorded on February 13th, 2016 (9.00 am) in a forest close to Puyo (Ecuador, Pastaza state) belonging to "Arutam" Shuar community. The bird species include Gilded Barbet (Capito auratus, Cobalt-winged Parakeet (Brotogeris cyanoptera), Pavonine Quetzal (Pharomachrus pavoninus) and Plumbeous Pigeon (Patagioenas plumbea). Recorded with 2 Primo em-172 mics (spaced at about 60 cm) + Sony PCM-M10 recorder. Editing : high-pass filter (250Hz, 12dB) because of a small plane apparently doing some exploration work.
