Der Macher in uns

In jedem von uns steckt ein Macher. Mal wird dieser Charakteristik mehr Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt und entsprechende Entfaltungsmöglichkeit eingeräumt, dann mal wieder weniger. Doch was zeichnet diese Qualität nun konkret aus?
In erster Linie ist es der zielgerichtete Einsatz persönlicher Ressourcen. Mit einer Kraftanstrengung wird ein, wie auch immer geartetes Ziel angestrebt und bei vorhandener Durchführungskompetenz und dem nötigen Durchhaltevermögen, schlussendlich auch erreicht. Die größte Hürde in diesem Prozess ist erst einmal der Anfang. Alle Zweifel, Sorgen und destruktiven Gedanken müssen beiseite geschoben und der erste Schritt getan werden. Hat man diese Phase überwunden beginnt die eigentlich Arbeit. Nun werden nach und nach alle nötigen Schritte zur Zielerreichung bewerkstelligt und der gewünschte Output, aus den investieren Materialen herausgearbeitet. Normalerweise treten innerhalb dieser produktiven Schaffensphase Widerstände und unvorhergesehene Probleme auf. Kommt man einen dieser Punkte, muss neu evaluiert werden, wie dieses Problem sich lösen lässt. Anschließend kann es dann weiter gehen. 
Der Macher in uns hat Biss und lässt sich nicht entmutigen. Zeitweise ist er der Verzweiflung nahe, doch mit seinem Ziel vor Augen ist aufgeben keine realistische Option. Besonders in einem Team lassen sich die Macher-Qualitäten am besten entfalten. Also ran den Speck.

Heute ist der aufstrebende Musik Produzent und Live Act Cedric Scheibel auf KataHaifisch zu Gast. Dieses Mal beehrt uns der Frankfurter Musiker mit einem Podcast anstatt eines Tracks. Sein Set für KataHaifisch ist sowohl harmonisch, als auch mit Liebe zum Detail konzipiert. Der gekonnte Einsatz von Vocals an genau den richtigen Stellen, sowie die Lockerheit der Instrumente und Harmonien kreieren eine atmosphärische Einheit des Klangs. Man kann dieser Musik stundenlang andächtig lauschen und Raum und Zeit um sich herum vergessen. Dieser Podcast ist zeitlose Kunst, welche die Frequenzmagie durch das Ohr hinein in Herz & Seele zaubert.

It's about time again, our eighth compilation finally sees the light of day. It is peppered with wonderful pearls from the most diverse styles of the downtempo universe and, as always, is intended to reflect the diversity of our favorite genre.

Again, we tried to find the right mix between friends who have been with us for a long time and have been shaping the downtempo scene for years, paired with a large number of newcomers who convinced us with their sound quality and approach to production.

The compilation was mastered by our engineer of trust Haunted Water and the signature artwork was contributed as always by Kilian Van De Water. Enjoy listening.

We are happy to present you our latest Afterhour Sounds compilation. After almost a year it was about time to publish a new, in-house release. Our goal with each compilation is to share our understanding of an afterhour with you.

An afterhour has always been something special. An episode of rest and yet also of departure. Always individually different and yet somehow categorically the same. This is exactly the spirit we try to musically depict with each of our compilations.
Finally, this time we have also included exciting downtempo, midtempo and uptempo tracks. Each track is completely different in terms of mood and energy, but due to their atmosphere and playfulness, they fit perfectly into every (afterhour) playlist. Surely there is something for each of you.

Our newest compilation is as usual a "Free Download" with voluntary donation. For this you can use the Bandcamp link below and decide for yourself what the project is worth to you. The extremely talented Frankfurt-based producer with a certain penchant for melancholy and big feelings needs no further introduction. We're talking about the lovely https://soundcloud.com/cedricscheibel, who everyone should really know. His releases definitely speak for themselves. If you are looking for a sound example, you are welcome to listen to our current compilation and his stunning, atmospheric track "Mabilis" (https://soundcloud.com/afterhour-sounds/sets/afterhour-sounds-compilation-4) which you also find in this mixtape. 

As expected, his eye-opening mix is in the same vein. The catchy "Inception" opener alone is first class and opens the gates to the world of the 'Scheibelian' master, from which he never lets us leave. Trapped in the fundamental state of luminescence here and there he presses the accelerator a little. But very discreetly and naturally with a lot of organic and deep elements. Plus this deep & dreamy atmosphere. Simply magnificent and great cinema for mind and body. Definitely a mix for the all-time afterhour playlist and beyond. Word.

How this mix came about and what his thoughts behind it, he reveals to us as usual in our short interview:

✔️ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

As a child, I took my first musical steps on the piano, until I discovered my passion for electronic music as a teenager.  For a year now I have been trying to combine these two almost opposing worlds in my sets and productions. :)

✔️ In your opinion, what is the perfect afterhour for you?

The right people! Not too many, not too few. But with the right people around you, an afterhour is really fun anywhere and under any circumstances :)

✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix?

I haven't recorded a podcast for a long time. Although this one is now a little faster than usual, it is still slightly melancholy as always, but also hopeful. Perhaps that's why it's very appropriate for the time of year, but also for world events in general.  Especially in times like these, I think it's important not to lose hope. :)

There are many of my own productions and of course from many artists that I really appreciate! I hope you enjoy listening. :)
