[SBZ0012] BENZBEATS - DARK PASSENGER EP

Shiftin Beatz return with release number 12, and this time bring something a little different to the table! Switching gears from their usual all-out assault on your jump up senses, this EP from Benzbeats appeals to a darker side of the spectrum. Calm soothing beats and some naughty eerie bass lines make this a must for anyone with a love for the rollers! Label bosses are out to show that Shiftin Beatz are more than just a jump up label, and in my opinion they couldn't have picked a better way! Keep your ears to the ground as with production like this its safe to say Benzbeats will soon become a name synonymous with the scene.

HIGHER PLANE
The second track on this release, 'Higher Plane' has similarity in the way it begins, a soft rhythm of hats and percussion accompanied by no more than an echoey synth after the first 16. Into the second we see the introduction of some kicks and snares to enhance towards the build, inevitably leading to the vox sample just before the drop, and what a drop! Sub heavy, this one goes deep! You can feel this one right down to the bone, with a deep dark wub-like bass in addition to some sharp percussion and vox carefully placed, all over the top of some well crafted drums. This one leaves a lasting impression when introduced to a mix. One to rattle the foundations of any system or venue! With the first half of this release already showcasing what Benzbeats is all about you can already tell the rest is gonna be worth checking out.

Sequenz is the second single from Neosignal’s debut album ‘Raum und Zeit’ which was released in June '13 and follows ‘Planet Online’, the track and accompanying video that became a viral hit, with coverage from Vimeo (Staff Pick), The Guardian, Buzzfeed, The Sun Online, Vibe, UKF and beyond.

‘Sequenz’ has been a mainstay for Neosignal’s live show, exemplified via performances at Fabric, Urban Art Forms Festival Graz/AU, Dockville Festival Hamburg/DE, BASSart Festival in Munich/DE, Melkweg Amsterdam/NL and beyond, and recently featured in the official PlayStation 4 ‘Best Games Trailer’ at Gamescom.
