Here is the piano version of one of the 3 arias from Vestas Feuer of Ludwig van Beethoven that I reconstructed. This aria comes from scene 8: the aria of Sericia, 'Ich flich zum heil'gen Hain'.

This is a reduction for piano, next year (2021) it will be performed with full orchestra, as it is intended.

In Memoriam - Andante con moto - Opus 82 no. 1

This is my version of Prelude no. 1   from book  1  of the The Well-Tempered Clavier by Johann Sebastian Bach. In 1722, Bach composed this set of preludes and fugues for solo keyboard: in his period, the piano did not exist, so this work was mainly intended for harpsichord. On that instrument, it was not possible to play dynamics, so I keep my performance close to the harpsichord style. This means: not to slow, light and not too much dynamics

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my Soundcloud page, I really hope you enjoy my music. First let me introduce myself: My name is Cees Nieuwenhuizen. I studied composition, piano and music theory  at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague (The Netherlands). There I studied piano with Else Krijgsman and composition with the Dutch composers Daan Manneke and Simeon ten Holt. After I graduated in 1982, I established myself as an independent composer and music teacher. The music you'll find on my page is all work of my own, except for the Los Paraguayos: these tracks are the result of a musicological project I am doing.
