suffocating voices, erasing paths,
sealing memories beneath a weight too heavy to unearth.

Now we walk in a world without horizon,
where day and night are the same shade of grey.
Every breath tastes of what once burned,
and every silence echoes with what was lost.

Ashfall is not an ending.
It is the inheritance of a fire long gone,
the residue of choices we never dared to make.

And when the last ember dissolves into dust,
when even our shadows are covered and unnamed
who will rise from the ash to say we were ever here?
