Ambient podcast Recorded 4 Years Ago

Revelation of Sound is pleased to present F-on, also known as Alfonso Pomeda. He is a Dj and producer and has been a prominent figure within the Madrid electronic music scene for many years .His progressive sessions, profound and with long mixes, are real voyages that sail through experimental music, ambient and horizontal and dubby techno. His productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic structures.
He has recently launched together with Kawn, "Tactil",  a project formed in 2020 focused on experimental slow techno that released its first vinyl in April this year on Antimatter.
He is multi-tasking running Is the Place record-store , Calma Madrid series of events, Antimatter label , Alpenglühen events & label.
Alpenglühen is a German word which conveys an optical phenomenon in which the last light ray on the mountain falls before nightfall. It is called that because the music falls somewhere in between light and darkness.

Initially as part of the duo disørda, he started to release music under his second pseudonym in 2019. Hello and welcome to episode 23. Our guest for today is @Ntogn (Entheogen). 

“An entheogen is a psychoactive substance used in a religious, shamanic, or spiritual context” This is mix is and entheogen for the mind.

-Who you look up to?- 
I look up to creative, independent and forgiving people. Those who let their passions guide their life and shine on those who dare not.

-Why techno?- 
I think it is because of the ritualistic elements in it. It is hard, repetitive and thus also a powerful tool for trance and to me it has become some sort of modern electronic shamanism. It is serious. It speaks and bends the mind.

-What is a good techno party for you?- 
Anarchy.

-How is your playing style?- 
I think my way of performing may rise some controversy among some colleagues as I prepare my sets for days. Sometimes a full week! People keep talking about feeling the vibe and choosing your tracks on the spot (which of course can be good!). But I believe in Creating a vibe and an optimal musical experience. So I choose my tracks with a lot of care and try to make it as pleasant and coherent a journey as possible. I like ranging my sets from deep to hard, dark to light and back and pick up the pace from maybe 100-110 bpm to end it in a ecstatic 135-140 beats per minute. Yin & Yang. This is an amazing experience, for me at least! Hehe. More technically I use Ableton Live for flexibility, controlled with a Ableton Push and a Allen & Heath Xone:K2 MIDI-controller. It takes a lot more preparation, but when you have everything laid out it is great! You can throw in compressors, all sorts of VST's and whatever you want on the fly and prepare loops so you can switch kicks, percussions, FX and do this kind of semi-Live thing. Truly awesome!

-How did you fall in love with the genre?- 
It has grown since I started to DJ about seven years ago. Since then I have been listening to electronic music constantly and my taste has evolved. Today I indulge myself in deep, dark, atmospheric, hypnotic, pshychedelic, ritualistic and intelligent sounding techno. Which will be the foundation of the label I will be launching sometime next year: Hypnus

SHELLEY, self-taught DJ from Bielefeld, Germany, has been making a name for herself since 2019 when she decided that the years spent within the club culture could be translated into something fun.
Her cultivating frequencies and understanding are reflected, with a vibe strongly rooted in nature dressed in deep techno. Her sessions blend hypnotic & percussive sounds with dubby & organic atmospheres.
Through this combination, she achieves to impact mind & soul in an unique way, channeling her love for the deeper electronics and turning it into beautiful sonic sceneries.

Starting nice and calm from the very edge where the sea meets the coast, the artist takes the listener for an aquatic ride that only can go deeper.
