In the nineties a move to the UK came as a consequence of his studies and with him a pulsating eagerness which helped Lateral Movement to dive right into the local music culture, effervescent as ever. There he meandered effortlessly through genres, taking him deeper into the arts whilst aiding his curiosity, from free jazz to indietronica. Returning to his homeland, Portugal, subtracted him from this rich diversity and forced him to become a strong supporter of the alternative scenes, where he looked to push people and projects that shared his values and vision. There and then he decided to embark on a different kind of journey and took upon himself the responsibility of discovering new music and to share it with the community. To this day techno and its many guises are his passion, especially the deeper and hypnotic realms, where ambience and atmosphere play the main role.

Nina (DJ alias иιиιт'α), who is self-taught, came of age in the male-dominated early 90's rave scene, has been heavily influenced by the deeper sounds of techno, atmospheric, and most things unconventional. Nina, who views the art of mixing as a spiritual practice that seeks to "balance relationship to mind and body, "prefers private parties to clubs/bars where the dancing is louder than the conversation. Her sets lean in the direction of storytelling, turning the moment's vibe into sonic passages, usually with a dark and moody undertone that reveal splashes of light and space to feel.

Frequency Machine is a recently started project in this 2022. 

This artist is passionate about life, he visualizes and describes his music as having great artistic and expressive value, implying that through his frequencies he can reach the most remote places that a human being can explore. 

In general, frequency feels quite attracted to Deep, dub, experimental, ambient, textured, hypnotic, minimalist, IDM sounds. His sound expressions have climatic, polyrhythmic variations, always trying to make an adequate curve, he is very extroverted; characterized by its versatility, vision and innovation between variables of multiple sounds. 

He also expresses his great attachment to the sounds of nature or very organic and shamanic sounds to express how much he loves the world and mother earth. 

Frequency Machine's musical inspiration comes from his environment, his family, his friends, the public and his life in Medellin / Colombia.

His musical identity has ever been evolving, from a raw industrial to today's deep and hypnotic sound.

Diogo Lopes aka STNDRD (Montalegre, PT) started his techno journey in early 2018 with some releases as STNDRD and Simbiose (duo).

Defined by his hypnotic, dark and mental sound, his music has been released in labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Edit Select, Subsist, INNSIGNN, ATD, TMM, Ucker Records, R3volution, Warok, Selected Records or BAHN· Records, the label launched in 2020 hand by hand with BAHN· crew, where he is an active member of the collective since 2019.

Diogo has shown his skills lately in the legendary clubs Moog and Razzmatazz in Barcelona, where he is now based, but also performing abroad in Berlin, Oporto, Braga, Cluj and Sofia.

We depend on connections. We love to meet people around, however from time to time there is a person who we will create a deeper connection with. Both on physical and mental level. 

CELLAR DOOR presents a little project of that aims to connect two souls on a spiritual journey. From time to time, there is going to be a mix that will result from a collaboration of two artists separated by heaps of miles. 

This month, we present LD HYPNO and BEN CYAN.

~ About The Story ~

The sacred presence of Brahman, or the Supreme Divine Reality, is there in God, what is called Ishvara or the cosmic lord. Yet it is also present in the soul or reincarnating entity, what is called the Jiva as our higher Self. And, it is present in the world of nature, Jagat. God, soul and the world are aspects of One Reality, but not in a limited way. Each shares the entirety of the underlying Reality. Each is sacred and holds the same deeper nature of Being, Consciousness and Bliss (Sat-chit-ananda). This vision of unity is the basis for an ecological approach in which we can honour the entire universe as part of our own higher Self. Now’s the time to leave before another storm hits the coast, deeper into the island. Sand quickly replaced with leaves rustling under the weight of your drained body. A swift change in light marks the entering to the jungle. Rumbling of the ocean is left far behind, tropical heat with an orchestra of birds, animals and insects overflows every bit of you. Although, one particular sound stands out, with slow but steady repetition inviting from deep within the forest. The closer you get, the easier it is to distinguish meditative hum followed by a voice – a human voice. Emerging from the shadows a giant black rock with the carving o a wave appears, and the eyes gazing directly into you – the shaman has been waiting.
