This is my first album in over a decade. The Fear is an audiovisual album featuring Ai animations, spoken word, found sounds, video and Ai generated voices vocals and lyrics. It includes two reworks of famous solo classical guitar pieces that we have expanded and a rework of a friends piece 'I and I' by Daniel McDermott. The album unfolds in one continuous piece with spoken word from Tom Campbell interspersed throughout. The psychedelic Ai-powered visuals use outputs from a number of Ai generators.

For the Thinking Folk

In collaboration with producer Tim Clarke, I has been composing and producing music for TV since 2010. Syncs included advertisements and promos by Beo/Carlsberg, National Geographic, Sky News, Volvo, Adidas/Footlocker, Sony Playstation Vita, Comedy Central, CNN and Unity Remote for iPhone. My music has been used on TV shows such as BBC's 'The One Show’, Masterchef UK, CountryFile and Top Gear, among others. I have released music with Extreme music, Deepeast Music Publishing, Zest, Jump, BMG, Sony ATV, Traum Schallplatten, Diatribe and continue to have my music synced with TV spots, promos, documentaries, programmes and advertisements across the world.

A Folkumentary

I was surprised how popular these isotones are so made another one for ye. This Isochronic Tone is at 4Hz in the Theta range. Good for a deep meditation or afternoon cat nap. The music is based on one of my favourite choral pieces, the motet ‘Locuste Iste’ by Anton Bruckner.

I used Holly Herndon’s artificially intelligent voice model app Holly+ on this track, which replicates the sound of her voice in a similar way to how DeepFake technology works. I processed the violins and some other parts of the track through the voice app and layered the output back in with the original instruments. The result is definitely artificial and something a human singer would have great difficulty performing but retains human qualities, as it is Holly’s real voice being used. This acoustic/electronic organic/artificial dichotomy is something I have been exploring regularly in my work. The violins are by Francis Moore-Colyer and harp by Emer Lynam.

Almost Human (Feat Francis Moore-Colyer)

1-3Hz is in the Delta range. For deep meditation or sleep. I used my guitar for all the sounds (no electronic sounds), although I did use some effects like time-stretching and lots of reverb and delay.

The 1Hz tone is associated with 
deep, dreamless sleep, trance state, profound 
relaxation, restorative sleep, feelings of tranquility and peace, if one can remain awake!

Here’s a new Isochronic tone for you. It’s a bit of an experiment to see if some more ambient techno style elements around the isotone would still be effective in entraining brainwaves. A soundtrack to creative activities.

7Hz is at the top of the Theta range and start of the Alpha range. Should be good for working on creative things or study. Relaxing yet gently stimulating too, I hope! I put some white noise and rain sounds in there along with some whale song. let me know if it works for you! Thanks for listening.

In addition, it features two reworks of famous solo guitar pieces that he has expanded with a small group of collaborators (Aberration Group). The piece 'I and I' is a rework of a piece of the same name by Daniel McDermott. The album unfolds in one continuous piece with spoken word from Tom Campbell interspersed throughout.
The Day Through The Night is a focus track. It is a rework of Mangore Barrios' solo guitar piece 'La Catedral'. The Day Through The Night features the voice of Amazon’s Alexa and Ai generated lyrics and visuals. It employs the use of Holly Herndon's Ai app Holly+ along with other modes of artificial voice generation. Francis Moore-Colyer is on violin and Damien Kelly on guitar.

Here’s another Isochronic tone for ye. It slowly ramps down from 4Hz (pulses per second), down to 2Hz, which is from the Theta region down to Delta. Might be a good one to listen to while meditating or going for a catnap during the day. Now that soundcloud has a replay button you can just leave it on repeat for sleeping or meditating or just generally chilling the beans. The overall pitch was brought down to 432Hz too.

‘I’ll Never be Found’, with Spoken word by Chanelle Marzouk

The initial seed of inspiration emerged from a improv jam session with Daniel McDermott when he came to visit back in 2016. I built on that idea by layering the bassline with 3 slightly different arpeggios. The slightly different rhythms of the basslines was a accident but I liked it so much I did not change it. At times causes the bass to sound like it is conflict with itself. My friend Chanelle Marzouk wrote and performed the spoken word part. I effected her voice with a formant filter to make it sound darker, robotic and masculine. I also recorded my acoustic duo partner Francis Moore Colyer playing the violin and put a lot of time-stretching effects on it which formed a spacious and organic pad sound. There is also some finger clicks, djembe, handclaps and whale song in there too. My process with electronic music is to effect the organic sounds to make them sound electronic and give the electronic parts enough modulation and subtle variations as an instrumentalist would so they sound organic in origin. The result is a bio-mechanical, mesh of organic and electronic sounds.
