Introducing our new EP series 'Nuggets': Here at Goldfat we're always digging for gold, and for our first EP in the series we have unearthed four precious nuggets from four stellar artists.

Aydn debuts on Goldfat with ‘No Ride Home’. A melancholy piano plays and dialogue provides a cinematic feel before Aydn brings in his minimal but funky drums. The bass follows the piano line and sets the groove before we’re introduced to vocal tales of heartache and a love that ‘can't be found’. Simple yet fresh!

Arcturius is a Drum & Bass Producer and DJ from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Only a few months behind the decks, Arcturius has recently won the opening set of the Basshaven DJ Contest 2023 and supported The Outsiders in their headlining act. Her unique EatBrain DJ Contest mix "EXIT THE MATRIX" is currently listed as one of the 25 Best DJ Contest entry mixes. Be ready to be surprised by her next production she'll be releasing in the near future.

Xyde & Gifta 'Blink State' [Phase Records]

With roots that began as a place to support emerging DJ talent during lockdown, Phase Records has matured into an impressive new-gen D&B monster in recent years.

Founded and fired up by London-based artist Gabby Gifta, first came the Phase events, then came the free downloads before the brand levelled up to a fully-paid label last September.

10 months later, the label is now seven full releases deep. The latest landed last week courtesy of Xyde. Gifta joins him on the lead track Blink State. To celebrate the release Gifta has delivered an hour of future-focused dark drum & bass funk.

Creating something of this style is new to me, but I thought I'd give it a go since this whole EP is about experimenting with sonic landscapes. Liquid Glitch hop is how I can describe it, warm basses, a lot of melodies and some punchy percussion. Had a lot of fun making this one, I hope you enjoy it too :)
