Pink Floyd has been a huge inspiration to me for many years. When you listen to their tracks today they are still very original and do not sound out-dated at all. Most of them are just so complex in terms of layers, small details and  tempo changes....it really amazes me. Also, they were always far ahead of their time in terms of recording techniques and using analog gear such as the early moog synthesizers. Listening to the Floyd never gets dull for me...I listen to some of their albums every year and each time I discover new interesting things.  

Remixing something that is by many (including myself) seen as 'holy' is of course a bit tricky. My remix will never even come close to what Gilmour and Waters created at that time. 
The Wall is definitely not my favorite album, I'm much more into Wish You Were Here and Animals for example...but the track 'Goodbye Blue Sky' just had some vocals that I couldn't resist to use for a remix. 
The original track itself is actually very dark and moody (it's about the cold war and the possibility of a nuclear conflict after all). Therefore, I decided to make my remix the exact opposite: happy and optimistic. I've made a lot of small delay edits to the vocal which you can hear in the middle of the track. It's probably not very suitable for the dancefloor but more a track to listen to at home.

Jex Opolis Presents: "In The Nite", a versatile new EP featuring three cosmic cuts from the NYC-based musician and producer. The new music also features the help of Ian D. Knight, a St. Louis-based performance artist. After a chance meeting at a Knight performance in Chelsea last winter, the pair decamped to Jex’s NY-based rooftop greenhouse/studio for a two-week session of music and vaping. With Knight on-hand mostly for spiritual guidance and janitorial duties, the tracks flowed like organic wine and the wine flowed like really smooth music. Knight features most prominently on the Compass Point-tinged “Look At My Car!,” a Paean to the joys of both consumerism and rampant motorism. Meanwhile, Jex whips out the Strat for some Chic-inspired licks on the chugging “Guitar Sands" here premiered. And on the flip, “Rimini Nites” is a straight-ahead 120 BPM Italo stomper. One for the heads!

PREMIERE :  Hysteric - Venice By Night

We’re hopping on the laser grid and heading to Santa Cruz courtesy of Norway’s very own Karl Fraunhofer for the 12th Sprechen release!

The title track is the thing of a synth lovers wet dream…arps, classic drum machines, soaring pads and some killer lead lines are all here on this neon painted soundscape that sounds like the pairing of a lost Canon Video release and a level from Outrun!

Tone keeps the synth spirit going with a slightly slowed down affair that still throbs like an Italian studio in the mid 80’s. Jazz sounding melody stabs with some gritty chord work make this one perfect for driving your white lamborghini down to the shops to buy another pair of espidrilles.

Remix action is from an absolute legend of the true Ibizan party scene by way of Leo Mas who gets the house vibes painted all over Santa Cruz whilst still retaining an air of balearic-ness. Manchester’s very own Neil Diablo gets to work on Tone and gives it his trademark balearic disco makeover with dashing if Italo influence that is certain to do some damage over the Summer festival dance floors!
