I made a left turn, the overcast sky
Glinted it’s smile and wrapped me
In a blanket taking me in on its own ride.
Reminding me of days I knew;
Most I’ve loved to ponder through
In a stroll along the shores
Of this breeze the ocean sends me.

A smell of home rolling across
My nose, salty air revelries
Have always been a friend to me;
The vast sea calling me by name
From some lofty memories
I’ve longed to create for what seems
Far more than a century.

There I sat, at the stop sign,
The crossing guard that makes
Me sit and pause to what 
I didn’t know came next.
The thought of you, none the less myself.

Street signs with nothing left to say
But the place of my birth and Albas shores 
Etched in my eyes forever more.
With a tear sealed for a moment I sat
Knowing I might never see the face
That’s loved me since time begat us.

All I have is an inkling within the 
Greatness that is all mystery;
Hovering on the edges of sea shore towns
Haunted as I move down the road.
I let my smile rise in prayer
A salt water offering from my heart falls.

Ventura And Aberdeen

In the orbit of the unglued, 
Peering from the playground of the moon, 
Relapsing cosmic condensation ensued, 
Lacking balance found in your person far too soon. 

I suppose I’ve laid my dreams to rest
Beyond the bosom of my breasts. 
Could it be they have made their nest 
Upon the bows of how one jests? 

My tone is three score and one too old; 
These lines may heal the most important broken soul. 
It will be done as the towers foretold 
Beyond the lost memories of moss and mold. 

I stand here questioning that which makes your head spin, perhaps it is the gin; 
You will not win on the eves of hallowed sin.

Sonnet # 1 - Proclamation

The dusk settled in like hornets,
Nestled between my breast bone.
Subtle in it’s movements,
Gentling me towards the dark over grown.

I can take any road and it will lead
To the same place I start;
A reflection of you in mead
Upon rusted walls of my heart.

I sobbed at the thought of your loss,
Your light gone from these shards.
Sunken like buried moss
Forgotten in the forest of bards.

And what coin is there to toss sides for in a gamblers lore,
When it is you that will shine upon my soul when I open my door once more.

Sonnet # 2 - Crossroads

I took my coffee light and sweet
Far too early this morning,
Just to taste our relationship
Blossom in my mouth.

A silent ode to the embrace
We carry each other in each time
We gather together as individuals,
In honor of being simply human.

If I could carry around the essence
Of this bond and give it out to every
Lonely soul I would, for then they would
Understand what it is to be content
With an honest smile and a heart
That beats strong, yet tender and mild.

Alas, I’ll not say dream of what isn’t
Or could have been, for now
Today my mouth carries a tender lipped grin
Of our noxious ability to be thistled in.

This coffee will do, the brew that smiles
Me into each day anew;
I’ll take my cup as sacrament.
A reticent prayer to God in gratitude
For having a few moments, just to be with you.

Sacrament

There is a sparkle of bliss
Taking reign in each step
That touches our lips,
Invading the darkness in which we’ve wept.

Each bitter drop of tonic for the soul,
As the flowers grow wild upon the crest of our smile;
We’ve become unknowingly whole.
Each tear, the parting of a sea, for a while.

This meekness of silence is glee
As we divulge our sanctity.
The playground of the spirit is free
Marking our child like identity.

Gratitude that subtly peeks through the window, oft scarcely shows;
But here in this cup of coffee, it grows.

Sonnet #3 - The Crest Of Our Smiles

The sky divulges all her secrets 
Within each gesture, the flowering iris’s
In a garden of rich candor, that speaks of you.
To you l, in a melody, a song of life held 
Within each budding blossom of our garden.

Now that you have reached the panicle
Of my heart, there is nothing left to show
But it’s inability to move through the mire.
Even still in this inability to prove I’m 
Worthy of your wasted time, I ponder the notion
Of selling my stars just to hang them
In the orbits of your eyes.

If only I could, to bear witness 
To the splendor of what life really is.
A record that keeps its proof sealed forever
Repeating loves odes for an eternity.
Happily ever after from my heart,
Straight into yours.

Sacred Rain

As the rain falls, I look up
Finally able to see another day.
Those little hearts that sent an S.O.S.;
I found another yesterday.

Along with pages crossed out
Of a diary mentioning my name
Akin to how the rain is falling
My heart was aching
As I read each line of the mistaken.

Have I finally found a way
To not rip the edges of
Fragile minds in my pain?
A gentler kind of love.

I have learned; my broken pieces,
Not all have the understanding
Of how jagged edges cut so raw.
Those scattered along, yet this
Wasn’t my edges speaking out in angst
On the page.

I can now handle the pieces; with care
Instead of cut myself there.
Precision comes with a cost
And the cost was worth every moment of pain
Waiting for you to meet me here.

Melding these shards into
Something they love to see.
Maybe one day too they will see how
Pure hearts can be shattered, so easily,
And the sharp edges dangle
Reflecting light so gently.

Just as I see you; your beauty
I pray you’ll awaken to see mine
Before Creator takes me….
And we can just be
Your arms intertwined in mine
With the kiss of love we know
To be divine and holy.
Until death do us part, you’ve healed my heart
My one and only.

I plucked the dark root

Seedling

My heart was a better guide than the stars,
Always in the distance yet never too far.
For they shined for us all to remind life to recall,
Loves influence has arrived.

My best navigational tool through the wilderness of life, along this rhythmic beaten path of the divine, I am; is my only guide.

Everywhere I searched
For the love I had dreamed of
All I tried to seek
Was already within my life’s reach
Everyone I spoke to...
Was an ancient voice I had already heard before
There was nothing, that I couldn’t see
When your eyes whispered their secrets to me

All this time and somehow I knew;
it would lead me straight to you.
All my life and somehow I know;
Spectating stars brighten the night,
just to feel our hearts glow.

All existing light...
The heavens shine so bright
Into a stardust flow
And somehow we are;
The love that made,
each and every bursting star
a dream come true.

Stardust Flow

Time puddles and I ponder
Into my reflection
Feeling it’s dullness
Staring back at me

My solitary face that
Never had it’s own glow
Somewhere along the way
Stopped to rotate around them
Reflecting yours

They say it’s me who brings
Them balance into their life
Yet, it is not my light they admire
It’s yours; reflecting off my
Pallid smile

I used to live this dance
To be warmed by only your glance
But the truth is I am alone
And desolate, dusty with
The holes to prove I’ve taken
Life’s beatings and still orbit steadily

This loneliness sticks to me
Wishing it had never saw your face
They do not love me for me
They love me for your rays

Offer me this grace so I might
Eclipse from time to time
Allow me to let myself
Shed this disguise that
I may stand alone
To breathe without your
Spotlight shining on me

The nights can’t hide
The tears that I cry
No matter how hard it tries
To console me

Melancholy

It's the edge of the
Rigged moments I can't console
Akin to a little girl with nothing to do
And so far to grow.

So small in your eyes
As disappointment grows
Tears fall from the glow of the moon;
A signal that it's time to go.

Can't keep what was never mine to hold
Each moment woven to leave me
In the cold, without your robe.
And so it was, this day I let you go
So you could move on;
It never mattered,
That I loved you so.
