Enjoy this cacophony of dark electro, funk, and digital chaos. A mix made in honor of the creators who have truly influenced me the most. In particular, Simian Mobile Disco and Soulwax, who showed me at a young age just how far music can go in a club setting. This is my collage of nostalgia, futurism, and equality. A slow motion locomotion of saturated synths and outlandish basslines. There are so many different styles and regions at play here, and that is what is all about my friends. While this may seem a deviation from my earlier Progressive releases, to me all it's rooted in the same thing, which is mixing. 

I based my name on Clive Barker's work for a reason. His themes often center on identity, and the consequences of conformity. To embrace and celebrate societal taboos and the weird thoughts that twist in our brains. This mix is an expression of just that. All that came before, all that is now; that put me where I am today. To quote Barker:

"Nothing ever begins. There is no first moment; no single word or place from which this or any other story springs. The threads can always be traced back to some earlier tale, and the tales that preceded that".

Jigsaw Music w/ Dan Voyce - 08.03.25

Cenobyte got his start in the Los Angeles club scene in 2012, transitioning from the crowd to interviewing DJ's and reviewing shows in the city under his House of Acid Reviews website. From there he began doing professional artist spotlights across the northeast, working with acts like Norm Talley, 4mplify, Ichisan, and being published with the Eskimo Recordings label. 

Finally making his way into Denver's underground, he immediately found himself working with crews like Sorted, CoClubs, Invisible City, Nocturnal, Gloom, and Mother Earth Sound System. Since then he's hit the decks and has been playing events alongside some of the best talent in the city; from iconic locals to international acts like Daniel Avery. 

The name Cenobyte is inspired from novelist Clive Barker; a man who specializes in peeling back the safe veneer of society and exposing the otherworldly. More importantly, a true ambassador for the things that go bump in the night. The oddly oppressed, and the strange. Whether Cenobyte is weaving through progressive belters, hypnotic blends of techno and house, or curating dark fantastical themes like the novelists he adores, you can always count on a journey through the unknown. A story each it’s own.
