The Side Chic represents my relationship with music right now, although I love and adore it. 

It doesnt feel the same way about me yet. It treats me like a man that isn't sure of his intentions, 

but also isn't sure of my intentions. So till I devote my heart and soul into the music I will be it's 'Side Chic', and it will be mine 
WOW. 

The side chic also represents the different types of emotions I've felt in past love situations, 

and heartbreak tbh was my motivation. It took a while before I realised this.

This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we welcome Hot 97 and Dash Radio personality Hip Hop Mike to the Upper West Side! In this hilarious and crazy episode, Mike details his parents leaving him to be raised with his grandmother in Queens, his father going to jail, becoming a stick-up kid, being sent to Florida to live with his well-to-do cousins and learning to sell weed, coming back to NYC only to get into more trouble and ending up in a group home, staying there so long he aged out of the group home, becoming a standout amateur tennis player, crashing a car on prom night, holding down several jobs, fighting with his mother and her boyfriend/Mike's tennis coach, all before he graduated high school. Mike talks about reaching out to Peter Rosenberg via MySpace, winning tickets three times from Hot 97 to see Rock the Bells, starting college for pre-med and dropping out, and linking up with Rosenberg again to offer his assistance. Mike discusses how much music changed his life, how showing up and listening changed the course of his career, and who exactly he considers family these days. All that, plus stories about Nas, Nardwuar, Lil Fame, and much more!

After returning home from the military Centri built up a name for himself in underground hip hop circles joining the abstract crew, The Lenzmen who released a string of highly conceptual and futuristic albums through the last decade as well as debuting on The Persecution of Hip Hop compilation album in 1998.  Performing through the NY tri-state area Centri racked up an impressive array of live performances alongside such artists as Vast Aire, Large Professor, Illa Ghee, Rustee Juxx, J- Live, Aesop Rock,Grafh and NY Oil. From there he established himself as a solo artist with noted producer Nasa, of Uncommon Records imprint. He was featured on several comps and singles through that label and since then has appeared on tracks with Just-Ice, Planet Asia, Craig G etc. He is also featured on Awkword album all for charity album “World View’ on a song titled “Dedication” which was a tribute to Hezues R who founded the charity Guns 4 Cameras and a comrade of the streets named Sincere. Both Hezues R and Sincere were shot 22 times, survived and changed there life for the better.
Recently Centri released the military-inspired LP Article 15: The Rebel Knowledge Story.  He also dropped the Rise of a Veteran mixtape in 2012 and the M.O.M.M.(#MusicOnMyMind) EP in 2013, and will be dropping Headless Nobody LP in 2014, with features from the likes of Skyzoo, Blaq Poet, Sha Stimuli, Akir and  AWKWORD  and production from Akir, Willie Green, Dynamics Plus, Dig Dug, Nickle Plated, P.R.O., Big Earth, and others…
