i was supposed to just make this an silly ass beat and put some adlibs on it but it kinda just went another way…..and then another way…..and then another….. i recorded those vocals on my commute from campus.

i haven't made something in like 6 months n a couple days ago i was like man i gotta make something i love making stuff so i wanted to make something funny that me and my 10 year old self would laugh at and i am somewhat satisfied with the result. earthbound is pretty cool but i like mother 3 better, blonde jimmy neutron really my son fr.

ok this took long to make but i'm glad i did it. the process was a rollercoaster and all that. i'll probably write a cohost (chost) about it or something it was that cray cray. but yeah if just this took so much i'm pretty excited for all the new music making things to learn about in the future. woo! ok. 

pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of time/sky were the games i played as a kid so this was awesome to make (tearin up listenin to it!) so hope you enjoy.

made with seven instances off c700 and one of bassmidivsti, cause im an idiot, but made sure that the track stayed in 8 note polyphony, at least midi wise. the effects done on some stuff could've exceeded da thing and made the song less accurate dsvduhnscij ok whatever i hope u like it

this is a cover of Yoko Kanno's "Modern Life" from turn a gundam. using mostly super mario rpg samples (the low piano sound is from ffv). it started out 8 note polyphony but a lot of clicking noises ensue when c700 is restrained to that so i increased the amount. da amount of notes clicked at the same time should b 8 max though. idk why i care so much about it. it's so late.

used c700...can probably export to .smc but not .spc and the second "hastalavista" sample couldn't fit into the c700 so i put in another instance of it. anyways chrono trigger strings and bass, earthbound percussion, kirby dreamland 3 triangle wave, marioRPG accordion yea that's it ok bye

a bit of a dark sequel to that one song, "the late worm gets the earth". very rushed cause i gotta do some other stuff but i was thinking about this being the sequel for a good while, though i didn't know how exactly i wanted to execute it. this ohb i did though had me like "whoah this is it!" and two days later here we are. the inspirations this time was marcos valle's "mais do que valsa", AM4N's "SNES_JAZZ.spc" and kapustin's prelude no 15 from those 24 preludes. u should check those out.

i was listening to a lot of pat metheny stuff a couple days ago so i really wanted to use:

- a smooth guitar

- a lyle mays synth

- a voice lead

i grabbed the smooth guitar from "Ultimate Guitar Kit 2", the lylemays synth from @tancla ‘s "3 years of Vital" vital pack (link BELOW), and the voice lead from Pilotwings. for the first two i used openmpt to set the loop points. they sound pretty cool.

the cuica i got from Legend of Zelda Minish Cap, the agogo and warm pad from earthbound, the fantasia from pop'n twinbee, and the rest of the percs should be from chrono trigger (or earthbound)

the title having the same name as yoko kanno's "egg and you" is intentional! when i started making it i called it that cause i thought it was funny but then i grew on it so i ran with it. i rly love that track. would recommend.

i sampled Tancla's "lyle mays" vital preset in a snes soundchip emulator for this. you can try that preset and  a LOT of his other presets in his "3  years of vital" pack!
