One of the things that we love the most from the beloved berliner underground is the huge quantity of unknown/underrated djs that scene provides. The ones we decided to move here we always get surprised about dj's that one can see at the most filthy and infamous venues, being not strcktly necessary to go to Panorama Bar to see a nice set.

We introduce you this month to EXOTIKA, good friend and great selector. Joan Bernat the guy behind the name, is one of those obsessed diggers that are always in the search of the perfect beat and the warmest vibe. Balearic, downtempo, protohouse and everything in between is the leitmotif of the catalonian dj.

Member of the amazing collective "Ceremony", one of the hottest underground parties in Berlin, along with Nirel Nica, Llupe and Rafa (who already signed an MM Cast last year)

Llupe is a DJ and record collector based in Berlin. Active for over a decade, he organizes the Berlin edition of MIRA Festival and is a co-founder of the music collective @ceremony-berlin. Llupe's source material is eclectic and wide-ranging, spanning downtempo-balearic and atmospheric sounds to more-energetic 90's music.

With this podcast recorded only with vinyl, he invites us to a journey of atmospheric cuts ranging from melodic trance to elegant tech/progressive house. Accompanied by acid sounds that combine old and new tracks, you feel nostalgic for the raves of the 90s.

Jordi, aka Llupe, and Nico, aka DJ Aficionado, share quite a few things in common: Catalan origins, a love for all things Balearic, the same street in Berlin and shows on Refuge Worldwide. They both certainly appreciate a good party, too.

Organizing parties and playing together was a natural direction for them. Their party series, Orbita, launched earlier this year, aims to create ample space for quality adult dance music. It seems to be working well, as they’ve been fortunate to host guests like Apiento, Tom of England, and Sianza, to name a few.

This mix is a recording from the last Orbita party, held at Fitzroy on what many described as the last day of summer in Berlin. For those who remember, it was a dreamy and sensual Sunday, filled with music that sounded just right in that room. It felt nice and cosy and the dancers seemed to be momentarily free from any kind of Monday angst. Playful and light, yet seriously good. Feel the magic, times two.
