Fillup Waters is the alias in which Los Angeles based producer Lance Dobbie channels his ethereal dreamscapes into sound. His affinity to natural rhythms provides a backbone to the spacey void in which he inhabits — a place that’s moody and unwelcoming, yet seductive all the same. With a heavy focus on ambiance, Fillup Waters provides a visceral pulse that functions best on a dance floor in the mystic twilight just before dawn.

He emerged as a student of the Los Angeles beat scene, navigating his way through the culture, sights and sounds of the last decade to find his own nuanced blend of influences. It’s a carefully woven tapestry strung together by gritty textures, psychedelic drones, and experimental rhythms. His debut album, “Some Sort of Journal” is the producer at his most refined and least defined, a definitive culmination of growth and momentum based on a life changing trip to Japan. On this journey, he’s acquired an unquenchable thirst for new and insightful ways to transmit emotion through sound — an inclination that keeps him pushing forward into undiscovered frontiers.
