Rooted in those rare moments of tranquility throughout a parent’s life, Early Color is the auditory memoir of Griff through his time as a stay-at-home dad to a growing toddler making sense of the world. Conceptually, the album is laid out as a natural progression starting with the beautiful field recordings of ‘Zoom Deck’ and warm melody of ‘Hemmed’, both evoking visions of a hazy, forest morning, slowly waking up after night’s embrace. Shaking off the slumber, ‘Steel Wool’ provides an energetic start to the day as most children tend to do, to the dismay of some parents. Followed by the understated grooves of ‘Bubby & the Submersible’.

Approaching the second half of the album, ‘Trace Fossil’ and ‘Atoll’ kick things into gear with ear-worm-like melodies that build and build throughout into an emotional trip, while ‘FGH’ brings a more melancholic take. Capping off the string of four on the floor tracks is the growling ‘Why Yellow’, a more serious number that would fit well in many a dj set. Alighting from the burst of energy, we have the breakish beats of ‘Resnooze’, whose warm bass-lines and wide ranging synths envelop the listener. Finally arriving at the last track, the aptly named ‘Sitting Quietly Looking at Things’ is a musical combination of all that was prior. Emotive, textured, impactful, as the spoken word sampled lends such an air to the track.

Early Color’s artwork was also created by Griff, through a series of layered scans and is evocative of both his music, and the visual direction of Never Late. As a collection of personal moments, sounds, experiences will be key to future releases, as we strive to find the best expression of each artist that we work with.

PREMIERE - Zillas on acid - Underling (Feines Tier)

We’re happy to cordially invite you to the Regression Session, hosted by eternal Philadelphia scene flag bearers @zillasonacid ! And if you think this sounds awfully lot like a scam, you’re probably right: „Regression Session“ is just a front of their illegal black market operation, trading raw uncut gems on a large scale. Just listen to the opener and title track and you won’t exactly have a strong case for the Zillas selling out, but rough as it is, this thing is capable of destroying any dancefloor it touches. Looking at their recent releases it’s fair to say the Z’s are on quite a run, putting out music on labels like Permanent Vacation, Throne Of Blood, Multi Culti or Ivan Smagghe’s Disques de la Mort. Tunes like the sneaky rough slow burners „Underling“ or „Start Digging“ sound like they could be lifted from the latter’s infamous DJ sets, while the deceptively titled „Cha Cha Cha“ or closer „Casual Observer“ justify the „Acid“ in the artist name. „Shining Snakes Across The Lake“ is what some years might have been called a mid-tempo house roller and probably counts as downtempo these days. Speaking of tempos, the penultimate „Sweet Days Of Discipline“ starts of masquerading as reaaally downtempo, but ends up throwing 155bpm kick drums at you, so better watch out, all you k-hole ravers! Let’s not forget to talk about „bquiet“, which is what you’d call mid-tempo house these days (125bpm) and uses the eternally banging combination of a jacking beat, a polyrhythmic bass line, some lead-synth stabs and talking vocal slices. You can practically smell the sweat. So what’s left to say? What you see is what you get: They are Zillas, and they are on Acid. And they provide a collection of eight tunes that probably each don’t necessarily have a double-digit amount of tracks in their DAW projects, and that’s exactly what makes them so forceful. Rico Casazza is no stranger to the Moving Pictures Label and the local scene. Calling Prague his home for the past few years, Italian electro/techno heavyweight is returning to the imprint with a new record titled “Climax”.

The EP brings to life a pair of high-speed dancefloor weapons, showcasing Rico’s signature touch and sonic precision.

Complementing these tracks are two remixes by Moving Pictures’ label founders - Roman Rai & Täino, having stayed true to the imprint’s eclectic sound and the record’s driving essence.

Music reorganisation adept Eden Burns flips Mehr Phett on its head, wonky space-toms complete the package.

Ricardo Tobar returns to MUSAR with 'Knitting' - a four-track EP blending dancefloor intimacy with raw, analog spirit. A two original cuts from the Chilean producer are joined by standout remixes from synth sorcerer Pye Corner Audio and cosmic rave queen Nightwave.

The EP opens with 'Los Siblings', a distilled snapshot of Tobar’s current sound: intricate arrangements, ethereal melodies, heavyweight bass-line and a vintage edge shaped for the club. “I’m embracing the dancefloor,” he says. “This is me doing tunes I would like to dance to.”

On the flip, 'Knitting' unravels from a simple arpeggio into lysergic ‘’Stereolab’' - techno chaos-alive, imperfect, and deeply personal. “It sounds like it wants to eat itself,” Tobar reflects. Layers on layers of psychedelia and cosmic melody turn this into a trippy journey track like no one else does.

Architect of foggy club rituals, Pye Corner Audio transforms 'Knitting' into an eerie, trance-tinged club weapon, while Nightwave turns 'Knitting' into a high-gloss, dreamy club stormer.
