For those who are not part of Dubdogz 5M plus monthly listeners, Marcos & Lucas Schmidt are a Brazilian dance music phenomenon. With over 1B global streams and monstrous DJ shows in their homeland, they have been a force to be recognised since their epic “Alors En Dance” remix in 2019. However, their move into Tech House this year got us excited, specifically “I Love It”, their collaboration with Grammy-nominated DLMT. After some A&R tennis across the pond, we can present their version of Gwen Stefani’s 00s classic “Hollaback Girl”, complete with Toronto-based rising star Dansyn. Much like their DJ chart smash “I Love It”, this cut is built on a killer bass and percussion groove. Add in a wonky synth, and you have a hooky-as-hell DJ-friendly smash. It’s a biggie.

It's been a minute since Oscar Barila was on the label. Since last year's "Feels Right," he's delivered a couple of killer jams for Large & Kevin Yost's iRecordings, both of which hit the charts, underlying his popularity with deep house DJs. For "Labyrinth," he teams up with Li.La, a Munich-based duo of Stephan Pokorny and Zaneta Schneider. Sweet stabs and a trippy spoken word vocal deliver the hooks, while a top-drawer bassline and Oscar's wicked beats do the rest. Oscar Barila, Li.La - Labyrinth (Extended Mix)

Most of you will know Classmatic from his huge “Toma Dale” (ft. Nfasis) on Hot Creations. Since its 2022 release, it has been a huge hit with DJs across the board, from Sam Divine to Vintage Culture, BLOND:ISH to Kaz James. So when he hit us up asking to remix Giulio Cadri’s sleeper hit rework of Hotel Ugly’s “Shut Up Your Moms Calling”, we were all ears. On this remix, Classmatic delivers the kind of percussion pleasure we’ve come to expect from the Brazilian tastemaker. Much like his rework of MAW’s classic “Everybody Be Somebody”, this one delivers. His clever drum work add a real punch to the groove, while Giulio’s chords and vocal sit majestically on top. With Mochakk already on board, this remix looks set to add another big tune to Classmatic’s arsenal.

Cesare Cremonini studia musica classica e suona il pianoforte sin da piccolo, poi, alla tenera età di 11 anni, scopre il mondo rock grazie alla musica dei Queen. Nel 1996, con alcuni compagni di classe forma i “Senza Filtro”, band con cui proporne inediti e cover di Beatles, Oasis e Radiohead, oltre agli amati Queen. Nel 1999, fonda i Lùnapop insieme a Gabriele Galassi, Nicola Balestri, Alessandro De Simone e Michele Giuliani. Comincia così la sua fortunata carriera nel mondo della musica italiana.
Nel febbraio del 2022 esce il settimo lavoro in studio di Cesare Cremonini. Si intitola “La ragazza del futuro” ed è stato registrato tra Bologna, Los Angeles e Londra, negli studi di Abbey Road. Tra i grandi che hanno partecipato alla realizzazione della tracklist, indimenticabile l’arrangiamento d’archi di Nick Ingman (Elton John, Abba, Oasis), e Davide Rossi (Coldplay, Goldfrapp, The Verve). 

Il nuovo lavoro è anticipato dal brano “Colibrì”, che conferma le musicalità sperimentali di Cesare Cremonini, in assoluto tra gli artisti più eclettici del panorama musicale italiano odierno. Il secondo pezzo, estratto a pochi giorni dall’uscita dell’album, è proprio “La ragazza del futuro”, che racconta un dialogo immaginario tra Cesare e una ragazza che rappresenta la nuova generazione. È un discorso misto tra speranza e senso di protezione, con un sound che richiama gli anni Settanta, scritto da Cesare Cremonini, Davide Petrella e Alessandro Magnanini. 

Con il 2022 si apre di nuovo la stagione dei live: Cesare Cremonini porta uno spettacolo nello spettacolo sul palco dell’Ariston, durante la 72esima edizione del Festival di Sanremo, che lo vede festeggiare con i fan i suoi vent’anni di carriera. Parte in estate, il 9 giugno a Lignano per la precisione, il “Cremonini Stadi 2022”: un ritorno in grande stile che tocca le maggiori città d’Italia fino a concludersi a Imola il 2 luglio, per il quale sono stati venduti oltre 50mila biglietti.
