Evigt Mörker is based out of Sweden, and his sound is undoubtedly affected by the country’s dense forest landscapes. He has managed to position himself in the Swedish music landscape as one to keep an eye on. Without losing connection with the strong tradition of Swedish melancholy and darkness, his compositions also celebrate the sensation of salvation. With the third EP out on his own label, Evigt Mörker, and another release coming out on Semantica shortly; the journey towards the end of the tunnel has just begun.

Welcome to the 150th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. A weekly released podcast that brings you the best deep music. 

Deep Electronics has reached it's 150th chapter and with every 50th podcast I try to do something special Segue 50th, DeepChord 100th and now Substak 150th .  I recieved his set last week. A more Dark Ambient podcast instead his more dubtechno related music and sets. I like it very much if producers step out of there comfort zones and enter a new genre to explore. Using is own tracks that are released on several interesting labels. First of all I was planning it for the Ambient Sessions but to give his set a unique place I will release it right now. This monthly released podcast brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This months session is created by XEED. 

Bio:XEED aka Fabian Schinzel, born 1987 in Switzerland, had his first contact with electronic music already in his early childhood. Turntables and mixer attracted the perfectionistic vinyl enthusiast since the first touch.
On the basis of a now very extensive record collection XEED creates with his carefully sorted record case smoothflowing and authentic sets in dark clubs and filthy cellars as well as open air.
In addition to Dub Techno, Deep House also plays an important role in his sets. Every now and then he might also spin some darker techno discs. What matters is quality and depth - but key ingredients are also a certain melancholy and stripped down to bare essentials rhythms.
Besides DJ'ing, XEED also produces electronic music under his civil name Fabian Schinzel. He already had a few digital releases on labels like Gleichtakt, Stahlplatten, Deeptakt Records and Echogarden - and also had a vinyl release with his buddy Rjega on DimbiDeep Music.

About the mix:

"My first impressions with ambient music are already way ago. Somewhere in the mid 00's i've got an impressive and profound experience with vivid ambient and experimental music - a lucid dream. Since then, ambient got a special place in my heart. That experience was also a reason why i found my way to dub techno, where i have my focus. Due to the fact that i am a record collector, i bought dozens of ambient, experimental and IDM records during the past years. It was challenging to compile them for a first mix, because i had so much to choose from. But the result speaks for itself. I hope you enjoy this journey and tell me all about your thoughts and experiences!"

Ambient Sessions # 31 - XEED - Insurrection of the depth

Since 2014, UK-based label, https://soundcloud.com/astralindustries have been responsible for some of the most enlightening and entertaining releases of recent years. Their output has helped otherwise forgotten or out of print music see the light of day, provided new takes on previous classics, whilst also pushing forward new music by some of the most well-respected artists within the ambient genre. 

Debuting with a release by dub-techno legend DeepChord in 2014, Astral Industries went on to release Wolfgang Voigt's live project, Rückverzauberung Live In London in 2015.  In 2016 they followed with a 1985 recording from disbanded dutch collective Chi - a timeless and undoubtedly classic record, whilst in the same year pitching Wolfgang and Deepchord together for the very first time, with reinterpretations of Peter Michael Hamel's classic, Colors of Time. By then, and combined with the continually brilliant artwork of Theo Ellsworth, we knew that Astral Industries was a label with staying-power, and a growing catalog of releases worth collecting - be it just for the framed artwork, or moreover, the complete music package. 

In 2017, we've seen an LP by Heavenly Music Corporation, aka Kim Cascone (likely encouraged by the recent re-release of his own label Silent Records), a third LP by The Chi Factory, and then just last month a beautiful album by Waveform Transmission (Rod Modell of DeepChord and Chris Troy), with a sublime follow-up album, a massive 20 years after their first. 

The man behind the Astral Industries machine, Ario is a proven expert at plucking obscure gems from the past, or ensuring that good music gets the platform and artistic presentation it deserves. In just a few years, Ario has curated a highly respected and anticipated label roster that demands attention, and has yet to disappoint. The music is always gentle, deep and often extremely vivid, be it deeply hypnotic ambient, or gentle murmurs of dub-techno. 

With curatorial talents like this, we're overjoyed to host an exclusive 2hr+ mix of Ario digging into his record collection, and interlocking a few select exclusive Astral Industries bits in-between. It's one hell-of-a hypnotic journey and just like the Astral Industries releases, deserved of your full undivided, escapist attention.

Long-time resident of The Labyrinth (Japan, @mindgameslaby), Hiyoshi’s vivid, contemplative ambient mixes draw together musical elements from a diversity of sources, yet retain a rare purity of emotion and atmosphere.

With Patterns of Perception 33 Hiyoshi aims to capture the essence of his most affecting sets of the past year, including at Sound Garden, Labyrinth, and One party, while also paying respect to friends and artists who’ve mentored and supported him.

The result is a lucid, ethereal selection, a dance in the diffuse sunlight, on the surface of the lake, always hinting at the depths below.
