One of my most atmospheric and ambient compositions. It came forth as the soundtrack to our ponderings and awe concerning the vastness of the universe.

Andromeda

Inspired by a line in Billie Eilish's "everything i wanted":

"Thought I could fly / So I stepped off the Golden."

This composition was written with the dark subject matter of "everything i wanted" in mind. To me, "The Golden" seems like a song that would follow the decision to do something like that because of the sense of finality the song carries.

The Older Passage - Raw Recording

An 5am improvisation recording that features surprise guest appearances from my cat, Tiger at 0:42, 1:28, and 5:18. This led me to use my last brain cell to create a new word: "sabotager."

Right after recording it, I put David Bowie down as one of the songwriters to give him credit for some part of the composition that sounded a little bit to me like "Starman" at the time.

Welp, listening to the song now, I can't for the life of me hear any part of it that sounds remotely Bowie-esque, but thanks to Bowie anyway for whatever part of "Starman" I heard in this song. 😅 🤔

Meditation

An composition I did during the pandemic. Musically, it's pretty simple, but for me it marked a point in time where I was very excited as I was re-teaching myself piano and testing out different MIDI strings and effects like reverb. :)

Rainfall

A short, quiet piano track with barely-there strings in the background. As this composition was coming to life, I envisioned someone slowly wandering a ruined, lifeless street alone in the wake of great destruction.

Streets of Rubble (Little Fairy)

I do original compositions and arrangements with piano, cello, & guitar. Improvisation is one of my favorite ways to express and flesh out ideas - I love how it can take me in unexpected musical directions and still feel natural.
