Cosmic Waves 2024 Prog Set

On November 25, 2023, Synchro wrote me this message: "I am the artist Synchro (TIP records, Nova Tekk, Atomic, M-Track) I live in Bucharest now so I'm not far if you ever want to book me." 

I've been listening to Synchro since 2020, being constantly amazed by his sound design and finding myself in his music. It was something I couldn't find elsewhere. 

I started to chat with him until May 10, 2024. On that particular day he was playing at my Birthday Bash, in Cluj-Napoca, in a small basement packed by wild dancers. 

We met two times besides my party, where he told me his life story and his present aspirations. 

Listening to him talk made me realize that he is a true hippy and punk individual, living the life fully and fighting for the well-being of those around him. He would've even consider to move to Cluj in 2025 as he fell in love with the city and had the intention to help me organize trance events in Cluj. "I will rent a space with you and you'll just have to do the organization things and of course play music. I know a lot of international artists personally and I will contact them so they will be guests at those events. We'll do something once a month or even more frequent. Besides goa trance, other types of parties can be organized, like techno and chill-out. I like what you do and I'd like to support you here. For the love of music. We'll keep in touch and plan ahead before my arrival."

We kept talking online and he told me about his mental health issues and that he's touring and this makes him happy and able to disconnect from the dark days when he's alone in his flat in Bucharest. 

As a birthday gift, he gave me on the 9th of May 2024 a Puzzle Bookings T-Shirt and an USB with all his music in lossless quality. There were even some unreleased tracks! 

On October 1, 2024, Synchro stopped breathing in his human body. I woke up that day with a message from a guy I'm happy to have met in this life, which is a dedicated goa trance DJ from Romania, Nude Dude. He showed me a screenshot in which it was written that Synchro died. 

The idea of death was not something new to me. There were people around me who died and I've been to funerals all my life. But this death was different. Synchro departing created a hole in my soul. The thoughts I have right now are moving me deeply and darkly.

This mix is a tribute to his art, where I played tracks from the USB he gifted me.

Dovleac

Ceteract is the solo psy project of a guy in Cluj. He's been playing parties for a few years, gathering tunes for both night and day. He thinks they sound nice but you come and be the judge. Recently involved in organizing a couple of events with his friends, he can occasionally be found in the wild scouting for new party spots on his mountain bike or just looking at stuff. Elsewise he spends time twiddling guitars in various groups of various lifespans.
