Mollono.Bass & Friends - Part One

Mollono.Bass tanzt in vielerlei Hinsicht aus der Reihe. Er schielt kaum auf aktuelle Trends, nutzt ungeniert alle Mittel der Klangerzeugung und schlägt so einen eindrucksvollen Spagat zwischen Tanzbarkeit und Tiefgang. Aber da ist noch etwas, das in seinen organischen Grooves mitschwingt und ihnen Leben einhaucht: Freundschaft. Die ist auf der ersten von insgesamt drei Auskopplungen zu seinem neuen Album nicht zu überhören. Die Freundschaft zu Seth Schwarz kommt in dessen virtuosem Violinspiel zum Ausdruck. Zusammen mit den dubbigen Beats und warmen Klangfarben von Mollono.Bass entsteht hier fließende Eleganz von geradezu symphonischem Ausmaß. Wunderbar harmonisch fügen sich auch die Gitarrenakkorde von Jörg Schwenzer zwischen die treibenden Rhythmen. Schon seit vielen Jahren ist der Tontechniker ein guter Freund – nun brechen die vielen Jam-Sessions, die in dieser Zeit stattgefunden haben, mit jazziger Vermschmitztheit zur Tanzfläche durch.

Mollono.Bass steps out of line. He doesn’t really care about recent trends, freely employs all mediums of sound creation, and creates a well-balanced mix of dancefloor thrust and intelligent deepness by doing so. Still there is more to his music, a very special vibe between the frequencies of his organic grooves: Friendship. It serves as the backbone for this lead-off single from his new album, the first of altogether three. The friendship with Seth Schwarz finds expression through his virtuous violin play. Together with the dubby beats and warm harmonies of Mollono.Bass it creates a flowing elegance of truly symphonic dimensions. The guitar chords of Jörg Schwenzer fit into the driving rhythms just as perfect. This sound engineer is another long-year friend – countless mutual jam sessions now finally hit the dancefloor, creating a rousing atmosphere of jazzy mischief.
