2011 saw a unique collaboration between hip hop icon T.I. And vocal
powerhouse Christina Aguilera.  While the song went
slightly under the radar in the pop charts it sported an emotional
chorus with a stirring vocal performance from Cristina Aguilera
that lends itself quite well towards a melodic bass rework.

Enter Collin Mcloughlin and Skrux, who's synth heavy interpretation
of Castle Walls provides a melancholy take on the hip hop focused
original. A soaring trace like arp guides the listener through a wave
of heavy bass and glitched vocals, making this interpretation of
Castle Walls a perfect balance between subtle beauty and overdriven
low end.

Zeds Dead have just released their brand new 5 song "Hot Sauce" EP via Diplo’s Mad Decent.The follow-up to last year’s Mad Decent EP, Victor, features 5 instrumental tracks that find the duo exploring more sonic territory with their music, further proving that they are one of the most versatile electronic groups around. From the opener, “Demons”, a nightmare inducing track with heavy, pulsating synths as well as keys and strings plucked straight from classic horror films to “Mr. Sub”, which displays a more minimalist approach from the duo with a bouncing bass and touches of space-disco synths and “Rave” a breakbeat monster that hits so fast they put in an audible breaths to remind listeners to take one themselves. So I heard this remix to "Sail" with Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul. I love it so much, but the only version I could find anywhere was a version with DJ drops on it and it was fucking annoying! Why do DJ's ruin songs? I just don't get it. Anyways, I wanted to make one without a DJ drop every 30 seconds. So I took my sampled beat of Sail and added Kendrick's verses from "Swimming Pools" and this is what came from that. Enjoy.
