Markantonio’s record label AnalyticTrail presents the first of its Black Series compilations, which showcases imprint's dark and raw side.

'Black Series I' features four peak time techno tracks by Beck And Rius, Jacopo Ghirardi and Black Synth (IT), plus one from Markantonio himself.

Based in the Naples region of Italy, Markantonio has been at the top of his country’s club scene for over two decades, and was one of the people who pioneered the genre in the now thriving local techno scene. His track "1990" gives a nod to '90s techno, and is in the dark and driving style he has previously showcased on labels ranging from Odd Recordings to Second State.

Beck And Rius are a German duo making their debut on AnalyticTrail following releases on other imprints such as Terminal M, Phobiq and Gain Records. Their stomping track "Mars Opposition" blends eerie synth textures with heavy percussion and a throbbing bassline.

Jacopo Ghirardi is from Turin, Italy and makes his debut on AnalyticTrail following music signed to The YellowHeads' Reload and Spartaque's IAMT. The sinister melodies and lurching chord changes of the tense pads combine perfectly with thrashing percussion in his track "Habitat".

Black Synth (IT) and Allexandra close out the release with their collaborative track "Remember", which blends an explosive kick drum with rippling acid tones, to deliver a slice of industrial techno with brutal energy. Allexandra is from Germany and she has previously worked with Black Synth (IT) on tracks released by DSR Digital.

Biography:
My Techno story began in late 1999 with various club visit like Tresor the old casino the new casino later Reinbeck halls in Berlin Schöneweide and still today my beloved MagicGate in Hennigsdorf (which no longer exist today, unfortunately)! Was danced until the wee hours , and already on the dance floor I realized my passion for techno music and DJs. Early 2001, a friend showed me the music program called Fruity Loops and quickly things took their run and I tried with Fruity Loops and some self-generated beats and the enthusiasm grew restive, I bought in 2002, Groove Box Roland 505 and a sampler etc! After several years of practice it was time and I had in 2004, my first live act performance in the former Techno Club Metronome! For private reasons I had a multi-year break, the techno music but never quite lost sight of. After several club visit as the legendary Berghain inflamed a new fire in me and therefore I bought in 2009 different midi controller for Ableton Live and Reason and I immediately produced new tracks that sounded quite professional, but it still lacked the finishing touches and so I organized major me a private music studio where I have the necessary rest to Producen. Since 2010, listens to techno music in my professional and the first techno labels were aware of me and finally a dream came true for me and I could release my music on various techno labels! To this day I continue to produce various tracks from the style techno / hard techno and still hope for more successful years !! Since 2017, I am producing under the name NeoPlastika, which is a merger between my buddy oneDESCRIPTION and me! NeoPlastika stands for "Pure Techno" , at the moment the NeoPlastika project is no longer active.

To kick things off in November on MMD, we have local South African Techno brothers Norse Code, who prepared a special mix for us.

Norse Code is a duo of brothers (Influencer & Serenity) that both share an immense passion for music, events and everything included in this wonderful underground scene. Most notable for their event company called Tunnel Vision that has been displaying a variety of Techno in JHB, they strive to take things further with all events that are hosted under the Tunnel Vision banner. 

BIO:

Norse Code are two brothers who share in the love and passion of music and events. Devin & Sean started their music journey at a young age when the joined the Drakensburg Boys choir where they studied 4 years of Unisa in both oral and music theory along with a variety of instruments. Devin’s individual alias is Influencer and Sean’s is Serenity and together they form Norse Code where they play a variety music ranging from dark minimal to hard driving techno. They started their DJ and event hosting journey in 2019 specifically within the Johannesburg underground music scene. They have an event company called Tunnel Vision where they showcase a variety of techno genres with the best and up and coming DJs within the music industry.
