Clay Hammer's music is born of not belonging - to a place, genre or people - and finding it, most acutely, in music.

Southern California desert rat in love with hip hop. Born again Christian struggling to find hope. Small-time farmer incensed at the cowardice of racism. 

And then out come the keys, the bass line, the synth, the melody. And the contradictions come together...

Influenced most heavily by the greats of hip hop, Clay Hammer draws inspiration from all genres and decades.

He can be found listening to Herb Alpert on road trips, folk music to please his wife, and instrumental/lyrical hip hop most days.
