KATIL61 remains a shadowy figure within Berlin’s underground rap scene. As a core member and co-founder of Kritische Disstanz, he left his mark on tracks that carry raw energy and urban truth. Yet little is known about him beyond the music. It’s as if he chose to stay unseen, belonging to the hidden corners of the culture. Since the crew’s dissolution around 2012, the veil around him has only grown thicker – adding to the mystique that makes his presence so compelling.

Now, almost 20 years later, he returns – with a brand new EP, introduced by this very intro.

KATIL61 bleibt eine schattenhafte Figur im Berliner Untergrundrap. Als fester Teil und Mitbegründer von Kritische Disstanz hat er Spuren hinterlassen – auf Tracks, die rohe Energie und urbane Realität vereinen. Doch über seine Person dringt kaum etwas nach außen. Es scheint, als wolle er nicht erkannt werden, als gehöre sein Platz in die Unsichtbarkeit der Szene. Seit der Auflösung der Kombo um 2012 rankt sich ein noch dichterer Schleier um ihn – und genau das macht seine Aura so interessant.

Nach fast 20 Jahren kehrt er nun zurück – mit einer neuen EP, deren Auftakt dieses Intro bildet.
