This is the first piece I began on my journey back to becoming a performer. It still needs some improvement but I am now on to other studies for development.

Matteo Carcassi Op 60 No 1

This is a nice study that was made famous by Segovia in his book of études. I set this up as a practice performance of this étude not intending to publish. However, here it is even though the phrasing is still lacking. I hope you enjoy it.

Fernando Sor Op. 6 No. 1

I posted a video of this piece a while back through my iPhone. I thought I’d make that right by posting this one. I choose to play it quite as slow, and it’s probably slower than you are used to hearing it. I think the audio quality is getting better overall from my last two videos. I hope you enjoy it.

Francisco Tárrega - Prelude No. 5

This is a lovely piece of music that students find really interesting to play. Pedagogically, it is usually the piece I begin students on to study playing two notes simultaneously with the thumb and fingers. It also helps in rhythmic study of tied notes and 6/8 time.

I think the one of the most interesting elements of the piece is the title. The word sciapodus (or sciapodous) means having large feet. I did not know the meaning of the title for quite a while and I still have a hard time placing the name of the song with what I hear in the music. Maybe you will have better luck!
