Animal Jam

I've been meaning to collaborate with my long-time friend, Nate Maruso, who is an excellent musician and singer/song writer. I sent him Animal Jam when I realized I could take it no further.  He created this out of the poorly rendered mix i sent him.

I wanted to create another song in the style of the Animal Jam song. I also wanted to do something lyrically without spending time actually writing lyrics and had the idea to use the lyrics from "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe." So, I guess that makes this a cover. 

Eeny Meeny

I recorded this song two day before Thanksgiving.  The past couple of months had been an emotional ride, exacerbated by the election. I decided this song is for every man and woman who have ever longed to be part of something greater than themselves. If the song speaks to you and you are musically creative, I encourage you to take the song, add to it, or change it as you will. I just ask that you credit me and let me know what you did with it. I will post your version on my page as well.

Every Man's Song

In 2014 and 2015, I recorded five songs. The first of which was Animal Jam (not included in playlist). The sound of these songs was a response to an album I had heard with very dry sounding trumpets, saxes and drums. I wanted to replicate the sound but throw my own twist to the song writing. "I Get Low", which I believe to be one of the best songs I've ever written, was created over a few days around the time my girlfriend's dad was terminally sick.  It was a very emotional time to say the least. I had been planning on expanding on these songs, but shortly after my computer died and I lost access to the original files and midi sounds used to create these songs. They have been collecting dust for three years and I wanted to get them out to the world.

In an attempt to get myself to produce more material on a daily basis I've decided to  try to create a composition each week, if not each day.  Most of these songs will not be polished nor will they fit into one style. I'm merely hoping to get my creative juices flowing and experiment in different ways musically.
