Just as I was about to rush out for an appointment a few weeks ago I stopped by the piano and composed just a few bars.  I didn't really have the time but I can rarely resist the pull of my piano and thought "oh well...maybe just a few minutes!"  I knew that when I returned home and over the  weeks to follow, these few bars would grow into my next piece of music.  While I was at my appointment I thought to myself that these little musical "doodles" are like seeds.  Every time I sit at the piano a seed is sown (which is why I hit "record" every time)!  Some seeds (or "kernels") grow and develop, others do not even germinate.  

All seeds benefit from being cared for and nurtured and I am lucky enough to have someone special in my life who is rather an expert in all things musical.  Thank you Chris Adams for mentoring me and challenging me to come out of my comfort zone and try new things.

I walk the edge of a yawning void
Only Nijinsky dares to hold my hand
You fell asleep upon the stairs
And woke with a crushed orange in your palm

You said you speak with those long gone
That their answers cut deeper than mine
Their silence wrapped in solemn grace
Outshining my faltering lines

[Pre-Chorus]
You said I wasn’t good for her –
But what the hell do you, do you know of that
Everyone who’s scared
Just bends their story to fit the facts

You always told me who I was
Never cared to really know
Over and over – your damn questions
Till I gave the answer you came for

I wish I'd walked away back then

You stole the most precious thing we had
Refused to share what never was yours alone
Even knowing they'd break apart
If we didn’t leave them the peace they deserved

Just a fair chance to grow, to heal
To feel the love they were worthy of

The childhood you blamed for everything

Back to the present 😊... This is a quicky born from some serious emotion re connecting to my first band. The power of nostalgia is something else. The power of nostalgia wrapped in music for me is one of the most giant forces in the universe. We gotta use it to teach in my pea head opinion. How music helps us wire our brains is just different to everything else and I strongly believe the only reason it's not in schools yet more deeply is because we just haven't done that yet... Let's make it so! It literally can be a time machine for knowledge if we design it to be that!

Chad Nathan (born December 31, 2001) is an American musician, content creator, photographer and author who is based in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Chad Nathan was first known for creating and producing instrumental music in the lofi and electronic genres before becoming more well known for his motivational themed Christian content and videos on social media.

Chad Nathan has released thousands of songs as well as several albums. He has been active on social media since around 2015. In March of 2024 Chad would publish his first book “PHOTOS 1” which is a photography book. In May of 2024 Chad would publish his second book “RARE MOTIVATION: Journaling Prompts For A Better Life” which is a self improvement book made in collaboration with Clay Griffin on their “RARE MOTIVATION” project. He would later go on to publish “IMPRINT”.

Chad Nathan has been a part of several YouTube and social media projects such as “Only In South Carolina”, “Worst Cooking Show”, and “RARE MOTIVATION DAILY”

Chad Nathan’s music is released under his own labels “Blessed Day Records/Rare Recordings”

Chad Nathan is also the host of a Christian podcast known as the “MY GOD POD”.
