Reflection

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, and the new has come. In receiving Christ, we've been given the grace to no longer be enslaved by our sinful passions, but have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit, which empowers us to resist our sin and live according to God's will. God's will ultimately brings freedom in our life, for we no longer are slaves to our sin! We have the victory!

No Longer Trapped

As I created this song, I thought about the journey of life. We are all walking somewhere. We are all on a journey. I imagine a man with his belongings walking through. His clothes are somewhat tattered, his skin tough and weathered, all an outward manifestation of life's toll. The question is, where are you going? Who or what is leading you? Which way is the best way, the true way? If truth is relative, then what is life?

But life is so much more than nothing - so much more than happenstance. A divine purpose was instilled. We were created - fearfully, yet wonderfully, and we all have opportunity to know the Way, to know the Truth, to know the Life, and to know Love.

His name is Jesus.

We were created to experience God's love, and to have the opportunity to love Him back. He gave it all for us that we could have a way back to Him. He laid it all out - His love on display for all the world to see - and if any were to believe on Him, to truly believe His words, they would not perish, but have everlasting life in a place where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death, but fullness of joy, peace, and pleasures forevermore.

We all know down deep inside that we were made to live in harmony, we were made to belong, we were made for fellowship. We all long for that rest, and that rest is found in Christ. Through Christ we have peace with God. When we believe in Him we become a new creation, and God fills us with His Spirit. We now have the power to live a life we never could apart from Him - a life of freedom.

So come - taste and see that the LORD is good. I promise you, He will never let you down.
