le granaglie, calcare
e il mare lontano
scava quel foro, la fornace sfiata lo sfiato del fumo
lo senti il mare lontano che scava la rada?
e qui sul monte, il Poro la Calcara resta sospesa, appesa
e chiama ‘veni veni’.

the wheat in the lime-kiln
and the distant sea
dig that hole, the furnace discharge smoke
do you hear the distant sea
that digs the shore?
and here in the mountain, il Poro la Calcara rests
hangs suspended
and calls ‘veni veni’.

PS: Today, Feb. 3, is the eve of the first day of spring in old japanese lunar calendar, called "Setsubun". Bean-scattering ceremony for Good luck in was common in old days, but it is popular recently to eat a special long sushi roll  for good luck.
So, I prepared sushi for tonight.. Happy.. : )
