My first Naviar Haiku challenge (https://www.naviarrecords.com/about/naviar-haiku/). Based on this haiku by Ichihara Tayo-Jo (1776 – 1865)

The beginning of all art:
a song when planting a rice field
in the country’s inmost part.

It's surprising where inspiration takes you! This led me towards considering the growth and development of electroacoustic music since its seeds were planted in the middle of the last century. The piece is improbably based on an upbeat version of the old hymn that starts "We plough the fields and scatter...".

In The Deep Blue Oh Shit (naviarhaiku364)Merry Christmas!!!

As has happened a few times of late I ended up with a darker tone than I had intended. Despite that I think I got fairly close to my concept. Specifically I wanted to take a slightly different approach to normal: a 3 layer multitrack from 3 patches on the modular, each recorded full length to treat like field recordings. The only modification from there was EQ and some reverb to mix.
