Le Monde Est À Vous (The World Is Yours)- Piano Solo

A piece with a fascinating history. It was originally attributed to 18-th century composer Albinoni and supposedly discovered by 20-th century biographer Rema Giazotto. Later it was revealed that Giazotto had found only a small segment of the opening melody and chord structure and it is now believed he wrote most of it himself. 
However it was written, it is a hauntingly beautiful but melancholy piece. This arrangement by Jason Waldron, and performed by William Wilson. More on william at Facebook.com/wmwilsonguitar .

 a cadence of light into the dark
 waves pass over me in shrouds
 as he descends the embrace of cold

 An emptyness inside my soul
 He was gone - consumed to imagination
 but my curiosity will now persist
 maybe miracales... really do exist.

When I first heard Frank Hiemenz' brilliant recording of Albeniz' "Asturias" I was inspired to create an chamber orchestra  arrangement around his solo guitar recording to give the piece more of a guitar concerto feel.
