CSQ: Tell us a bit about your local techno scene. How has it shaped you as an artist?

Tapage Noir: I've been living in Prague for the past four years. That's where I practically discovered, or to be more correct, where I first started diving into electronic music by attending raves. But my interest developed rapidly beyond the listening experience. I used to play the guitar and drums in a few death metal bands, so I guess as a musician, I was quickly attracted to the creative side of the music. That's how I started producing and, a bit later, DJing. I was naturally attracted to industrial sounds and rhythms as I found many similarities between metal music and industrial techno. To come back to Prague, I'd say that the scene here has little to offer when it comes to industrial techno but there are a few cool hard techno collectives and mainly some really cool producers with whom I connected. I think those connections are what had the most impact on me as an artist when it comes to the local scene.

CSQ: Would you like to share anything with the listeners about the set?

Tapage Noir: I don't think I have much to say. It's recorded on four decks to try and keep things interesting and constantly evolving, which is something really important to me, both as a producer and a DJ. The track selection was more spontaneous than anything else, as I would do in live. It features some of my favourite artists and tracks of the moment.

CSQ: How does the set reflect the development of your style and your DJing since you started?

Tapage Noir: I think I'm getting to a point now where I know what kind of music I want to make and play, and this podcast represents it quite well. I hope you'll enjoy it!
