"Welcome to the first volume of "The Collabo Series", a collaborative effort between me and some of my closest homies, colleagues, and comrades. Each of these tracks were made in only a couple of days during random time off from shows on tour, in completely different locations, at completely different times, with completely different genres and artists (besides myself, although one could argue I was a completely different self at each of these sessions, but, I digress). Thriftworks and I sat down at his chill studio in Berkeley, CA and ended up sampling his cabinet hinges and a music box for our tune in the not so distant past, kLL sMTH and I in his heady paulo santo rinsed studio in Boulder, CO, Robotic Pirate Monkey also in their studio in Boulder, CO with a beautifully hazy view of the Rockies, and Samples at Mikey Fisher's studio in the tenderloin of San Francisco, with Samples collaboration being the oldest, written in early 2010 when we were both booked together at our first show in California, with the other three written in the past year or so."

The title 'Momento mori' is a play on the symbolic trope 'Memento Mori' - reminding us of the inevitability of death.
We live in a world focused on light and the pursuit of happiness. There are endless amounts of stories guiding us towards light. But, in the last years i have learnt that we connect better in the shadow of sadness.
Bodies connect in pleasure, but souls connect in pain.
'Remembering Death', is holding onto life.
Death/loss has surrounded me in the past years. And it sits around us all.
Being grateful for every moment. For every emotion.
Its ok, to not be ok.
To hold on.
That is the only play to make.

With self-descriptions like "medicine hop" and "liquid sunrise," you might think that dusty San Franciscan producer Random Rab moonlights as a homeopathic doctor. The hippocratic oath can breathe easy, though, Rab's anti-anxiety prescriptions come in the form of laid-back electronica beats like the impossibly chill "Dilection." The burner favorite sang in a metal band and played classical trumpet in past lives, so rinse this one thoroughly before he moves on to playing Gamelan disco or something equally esoteric in the near future.

It is thought that 13.8 billion years ago the Universe underwent a period of rapid “inflation” in the very first moments of its existence. A big bang, a 3 dimensional ripple set forth in time creating everything we see around us, and everything that is yet to come. 

As we look to the stars today, we see ancient ripples of light that have travelled for light years to meet our eyes, from orbs of gases that may well be extinguished. Cast your vision in... 

Every element of every breath that was ever taken on earth is still in circulation right now in some combination or another. From the dinosaur that passed wind, to Albert Hoffmans heavy panting whilst riding his bike, you, and I are constantly respiring throughout our whole bodies and back out to into the body of the world and everything in it. A constant ripple inward and out that will continue for eternity. 

In a blink of geological time, 900 years, Ancient sunlight in the form of coal was found in Europe and asia and busily extracted and burnt adding to the intensity of agricultural practices that have allowed our obese populations to balloon epically out of synch with nature. 

The abundance of human food supply was, until the past few hundred years, largely determined by how much sunlight hit the ground. This is shown by our equators that are naturally teeming with life and how our poles are relatively devoid of natural life. 

Every life form on the surface of this planet is here because a plant was able to gather sunlight and store it, and something else was able to eat that plant and take that sunlight-energy in to power its body. 

We are therefore, all ultimately made out of sunlight. And maybe you don’t know you're a star, but you should. 

Welcome to the 10th release from Bumble. This album stretches the musical expanses, to deliver a positive 10 songs, heavy with organic instrumentation and lathered with sub and squelchy frequencies. This balance of tracks delves through the deeper downbeat realms of the concept whilst also providing up beat and bright funk inspired dance floor treats. 
All compositions, instrumentation, percussion, vocals and stories have been written and played/sung by Max Von Bumble apart from the additional contributions by Matthew Ashbolt on bass guitar (Track 4, 10) and additional percussion contributions by Borja Valls (Track 2,3,6,7,8).

"Sci-Fi Lullabies is my homage and love affair to intelligent and thought provoking science fiction and genre literature.  I tried to capture a sense of place in each track and make each one feel as if it was it's own world in an alternate universe.  I dove deep into the modular and analog synths to get a real high fidelity otherworldly sense of sound design and interest".

Bluetech returns to his roots with an album of delicate and intricate downtempo music.  Realized with a collection of analog synths and modular explorations, Sci-Fi lullabies hearkens back to the early Bluetech albums like Prima Materia and Elementary Particles with its hyper detailed and evolving production acumen.

Evoking a classic era of electronic music and realized in an analog domain brings a particular warmth and sense of nostalgia to the tracks, dancing between melodic idm, expansive downtempo and lush ambient worlds.

Created as an homage to science fiction and magical realist literature, Sci-Fi Lullabies establishes eight otherworlds for listeners to explore with open eye dreaming .
